Transportation from the airport El Alto International Airport is located in El Alto city (neighboring city of La Paz). Tourist information La Paz city (officially known as Nuestra Señora de La Paz - English: Our Lady of Peace) is the seat of government and the de facto national capital of the Plurinational State of Bolivia (the constitutional capital of Bolivia is Sucre).

Located in the Andean region of Bolivia (west-central part of Bolivia), near the Andean Mountain Chain, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world (~3650 above sea level) and it is set in a canyon created by the Choqueyapu River. Surrounded by beautiful mountains like the Illimani, La Paz is known by its characteristic topography and the amazing views you can get from the highest points of the city. Steep streets, constructions on the hills and on the sides of the valley are part of its beautiful landscape. This allowed a revolutionary massive transportation system as the Teleférico (cable car) to be implemented, which is now considered one of the city s touristic attractions. La Paz is considered also a cultural and historical city. Founded in 1809, it still preserves many Spanish constructions of that time like the Government Palace, The San Francisco church, the museums located along the Jaen street, and others. La Paz is also located relatively close to different Touristic places such, as: - Titicaca Lake - Tiwanaku ruins - Zongo Valley - Yungas Valley For more information you can visit: https://www.boliviaturismo.com.bo/la-paz.php Contact information Local contact: Laura Ticona Valeria Mardoñez Marcos Andrade Emails: lticona@chacaltaya.edu.bo vmardonez@chacaltaya.edu.bo mandrade@fiumsa.edu.bo Tel: (591-2) 2799155
