Richard Hull requested permission to use the playing field for the annual bonfire event, the Cllrs agreed to this request. Information regarding Play day was provided Richard Hull. Cllr Stef Roberts and Richard Hull advised that the recent Papplewick V Linby cricket match was a great success. Margaret Kerr enquired about the situation regarding the replacement kerb stones on Main St, Clerk advised that Cllr Patricia Andrews is chasing this with Highways. The scheduled resurfacing for the top 200 metres of Blidworth Waye was discussed. It is hoped that a full resurfacing of Main Street and Blidworth Waye will be scheduled for 2015/2016. Cllr Stef Roberts advised that the road surface is no longer suitable for top dressing, hence the scheduled re-surfacing works. Margaret Kerr enquired about the current situation regarding the purchase and installation of a defibrillator in the village. PPC are aware that the village hall committee are not in favour of the defibrillator being sited at the village hall. Parishioner David Mills enquired as to the parish council s response to the wind turbine application, Cllr Stef Roberts advised that the PPC felt the consultants had not demonstrated the special circumstances that were required in order to site the turbine on green belt land and raised objections to this effect. Parishioner Peter Brown brought to the attention of the council the confusing situation regards the naming of Rigg Lane (previously Ash Lane) and the lack of street name signs. 44/14 BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION A letter was received from CPRE to advise that Papplewick did not progress through round one of the competition. Cllrs were in agreement that the comments were not particularly helpful or accurate, Cllr Stef Roberts will contact CPRE to discuss the feedback given. 45/14 PUBLIC MEETING Cllr Stef Roberts reported that the public meeting held on the 22nd June was very well attended. Margaret Kerr also advised that the LNPL proposal has been deferred. 49/14 PLAYING FIELD a) General Recent vandalism to the springy was discussed, Richard Hull advised that the replacement parts should be delivered this week. Cllr Roberts spoke to several teenagers on the skate park who expressed concern that small children were running around the skate area un-supervised. It was agreed that an extra bin is required near the skate park, Richard Hull kindly offered to collect the bin to save the delivery charge of 50. Cllr Stef Roberts passed inspection book to Cllr Cathy Burman and Cllr Nigel Penlington. b) Sensory garden Cllr Stef Roberts and Cllr Cathy Burman advised that approx 80 worth of plants were stolen in June which was reported to the police. Bark has been now been added to the beds. c) Play Day Richard Hull advised that all is in hand for the Play Day 30 th July. PPC to organise the refreshment stall as per previous years. Clerk contact preschool to advise 50/14 HIGHWAY MATTERS a) General It was agreed that the clerk should write to Highways to suggest the installation of traffic lights on Linby Lane and Forest Lane to ease congestion at the crossroads during peak times. b) Lengthsman scheme Cllr Stef Roberts advised that more jobs are required for the lengthsman. regularly informed when jobs have been completed. c) Walter s Hill Clerk advised that she has written to Eamonn Harrison at NCC recently regarding the issue with the blocked gullies.
