This person will be responsible for planning our annual Kickoff To Snowmobiling Party and our annual Member Appreciation Dinner. This year, both events will be held at Norwood Pines Supper Club. This person will coordinate an itinerary for the evening, plan the menu to be served and publicizing the event and/ or invite members to the event. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to plan social events and get involved at the next level of club participation. oadside Clean-up Coordinator Needed: Each year our club has been involved in the state highway clean-up project. Our club s responsibility is to rid Highway 70 West of roadside debris. Typically we have volunteer crews doing this twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring. Typically the group meets for an optional breakfast at the Black Bear Bar prior to heading out to the highway. Last spring our coordinator for this activity resigned and our club has yet to find a replacement. The responsibilities of this position are to organize a work group and keep the state informed of our activities. Please contact a representative of the club if you are interested in either of the above positions. On Saturday, October 13th, the club will be hosting the 2nd Annual Trail Maintenance Party at the equipment shed. The purpose of this event is to let you experience what it takes to maintain our trail system while getting a chance to socialize with fellow club members. The event is open to both men, women and children of appropriate age! See Page 4 for the details. September Page "1

M I N O President s eport C Q U A F O E S T Snowmobile affle Well, it s that time of year again. I m sure the leaves changing colors is getting everyone excited for the upcoming snowmobile season. Even though I won t be able to ride our trails this year (I continue to recuperate from injuries sustained in an accident this past summer), I m still looking forward to a long and very white winter. I have two items to report to you: This past spring, the Board of Directors signed an APHIS (Animal And Plant Health Inspection Services) contract to help control the beaver population throughout our trail system, hopefully stopping them from damaging culverts on the trails. The agency did have some success, however, there was also some extensive damage done. Pictured above is Bob ynders replacing a rusty 5 steel culvert with three 3 polyurethane tubes. Phase II of our Business Sign installation will be completed this season. Trail sign space has been sold to select club sponsors whose business name and amenities will appear on signs, in coordination with the area signs that were installed prior to last season. September Many of our members received raffle tickets to either sell to relatives, neighbors, and friends or to purchase for themselves. If you received tickets and do not want to buy or sell them, please return them to the club so we can find another way of selling them. Yo u r c o o p e r a t i o n i s m u c h appreciated! otary Club Partnership This year, Art Wehnert took over the responsibility of coordinating our club s volunteer effort to help the Lakeland otary Lunch Club set-up and tear-down their Beef-A-ama food & beer garden. Eight to ten of our members participated in this task. We also had club members volunteer to help out with the food service, including your Vice President who was the hotdog chef! Last year, the otary club donated $3,000 to our club for this work. I D E S Club Snowmobile ides Members Larry and Nancy Schum have once again volunteered to coordinate eight club rides, beginning the first Wednesday in January. The rides will rotate between Wednesdays and Thursdays. Each week the Schum s will lead a ride to a variety of lunch destinations throughout the northwoods. Information about each ride will be available on our website and on Facebook. We will also use our member email blasts to keep you posted throughout the season. Equipment Shed Work Nights This year, John Hollander has been appointed Equipment and Maintenance Manager by the Board of Directors. Pat Harkins will be working with John in coordinating this volunteer opportunity. Each week, John will create a list of projects that need to get done on Tuesday nights at the shop. This is an opportunity for you to help maintain our equipment or work on special projects related to maintaining our trail system. To get in on the fun, contact Pat at pwharkins@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer and be added to the work night email list. Page "3

MINOCQUA FOEST IDES SNOWMOBILE CLUB 2nd Annual Trail Maintenance Party Saturday October 13 th 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM Forest ider Equipment Shed The purpose of this event is to let you experience what it takes to maintain our trail system while getting a chance to socialize with fellow club members. The event is open to both men, women and children of appropriate age! Coffee and rolls will be served between Eight-Thirty and Nine O clock while we organize into work groups. Our six Area Leaders will have projects for you to work on out in the trail system. We ll be back at the equipment shed no later than Two O clock for a luncheon, which includes malt beverages and soft drinks. Some of the projects can be accessed by an ATV. If you have one, bring it to the event and get in a ride as well as help maintain our trails! Dress appropriately by wearing footwear designed for hiking in the woods and bring a pair of work gloves. A chainsaw is useful as well. This is a great opportunity for you to get a chance to see what our regular trail workers do and to participate in the ongoing work that is needed to keep our trails in outstanding condition. The reputation of our 125 miles of LEGENDAY TAILS is not without continued planning, goal setting, hard work and the financial resources needed to maintain and improve the trails. In order to uphold this incredible reputation, quality trails are required. In addition to tireless volunteer time, proper equipment is critical to ensure that trail improvements and maintenance can be done by our workers. To this end, our club is conducting its Fourth Annual Snowmobile affle. Last spring we purchased a 2018 Ski-Doo MXZ Blizzard 900 ACE Snowmobile for the First Place Prize. Yamaha Motor Corp, USA and yden Marine of Minocqua provided a 2018 Yamaha SnoScoot Snowmobile for the Second Place Prize. Tony and ochelle Priesgen donated a Two Place Triton Trailer as the Third Place Prize and Jay Sanders (HVAC Plus) donated a Hot Dawg Garage Heater for the Fourth Place Prize. Also, George and Gloria Tamms (American Litho) donated the printing of the posters and tickets. This year Steve Shanks continues to be the affle Committee Chairperson. Along with help from Pat and Sharon Harkins, Steve s making sure that the snowmobile is visible throughout the greater Minocqua area and that tickets are available for sale. During the summer months, tickets were sold at various community events. Thank You volunteers who helped out with these ticket sales. The committee is also working with many of our Map Ad sponsors who volunteered to help out our club by agreeing to sell raffle tickets at their businesses. September Page "5
