Dear traveller, You are about to purchase the road book Road Trip Ontario and Quebec. This preview shows only 2 out of the entire 21 travel days. The road book contains for each travel day: a day plan/time schedule description of highlights one or more maps, including links to the online maps a selection of attractions /activities, including contact details for outfitters links to relevant brochures, maps, and additional information Also included and explained are: How to Use the Road Trip Maps Calling and Internet Plans Rentals: Camping Gear & Rental RV Fishing in Ontario and Quebec Toll and Taxes during your trip Debit and Credit Cards information Tipping in Canada Travel Schedule including contact details campgrounds/accommodation and reviews Reservations and coupons Fall 2018, I designed and drove the entire route. Made adjustments where needed, visited all campgrounds and experienced all selected activities. It has not been my intention to include every single sight or activity along the route. Presented selections are all high quality and fit the itinerary best. The result of my work is this amazing road trip in which travel days are interspersed with sightseeing and outdoor activities. Either print the road book, or use it on your mobile device. The latter allows you to open added links and interactive maps when having internet access. Some campgrounds offer WIFI, others not. Cell phone coverage is available along most stretches of the route. Therefore, I advise you to download the maps at home in order to use them offline while on the road. More about offline use of the maps on page is described in the road book. Furthermore, a copy of each map is included as well as important information. Even without internet your road book will be a great tour guide. Please be aware, this road book is not a travel guide. It does not contain information such as Canadian history and culture. If you are interested in back ground information, it s best to take an additional travel guide along. HAPPY TRAVELS! Day 10 A miracle along the St. Lawrence River Today you ll follow the St. Lawrence River again. Along the route are the very popular Montmorency Falls as well as the less crowded and also very scenic 74 m. high waterfalls of Canyon Saint-Anne. A visit to both might be just a little too much, unless you re a fall-fanatic ;) If you need a miracle of any kind, make sure to stop and pray at the sanctuary shrine of Sainte Anne-de- Beaupré, a famous pilgrimage destination: Many went ahead of you and quite a few prayers have been answered! Time Schedule AM 9 departure 9.30 passing Montmorency Falls 10.00 Sainte Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica 10.15 Canyon Sainte-Anne PM 1.00 Ferry 1.30 Camping Bon-Désir Optional + 1 hr visit Sainte Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica + 1-1.5 hr Canyon St.Anne Highlights Montmorency Falls At Parc de la Chute, the fall can be discovered on foot or by cable car. A 300-meters double zipline, and the via ferrata -a hiking trail on a cliff-, promise some adrenaline. Trails 0.5 to 3 km long criss-cross the park. As you walk along the cliff on the promenade, you ll eventually cross the suspended footbridge. The bridge is positioned just above the concrete wall where the water tumbles down beneath your feet. Web https://www.sepaq.com/destinations/parc-chute-montmorency/index.dot?language_id=1 This natural phenomenon is in my opinion over exploited. The 83 m/272ft high waterfall can be viewed from hwy 138 when passing it. The view from the highway is -from my perspective- even better than from Parc de la Chute-Montmorency itself. However, you can t stop and park your car along the highway in order to get a picture. Paid Parking P1 - Base of the cable car, below the falls: for buses and cars. Sainte Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica and sanctuary shrine The Basilica is a Sanctuary dedicated to Saint Anne, the grandmother of Jesus. Settlers, missionaries, and sailors coming from France brought devotion to Saint Anne to North America. Saint Anne has become the patron saint of the province of Quebec. Everything began in 1658 when Louis Guimont, suffering from excruciating back pain, came to help with the construction of the first chapel and was miraculously healed as a result. This would be the first of an endless series of healings such as that paralytics walk, Tourguide Canada Page 4

the blind can see, and the sick are healed of every kind of illness. The pilgrimage history of Sainte-Annede-Beaupré is one that is marked by extraordinary events, which continue even to this day. Even if you don t believe in miracles, it s worth to stop to admire the Basilica! https://sanctuairesainteanne.org/en Canyon Sainte-Anne Canyon Sainte-Anne, carved out of a 1.2 billion year-old rock formation, features trails with 3 suspension bridges, giant potholes, and a 74 m/243 ft high waterfall. Many observation points allow you to discover different facets of the Sainte-Anne Canyon. For an additional fee you can fly with 50 km/hr (31 mi/hr) above the gorge by Air Canyon. Web: http://www.canyonsa.qc.ca/en Camping Bon Désir Located on the shores of the St. Lawrence Estuary, offering 40 hectares of natural spaces, the Bon Désir Camp Site is the ideal place to see whales right from your campsite! Make sure to make reservations well ahead of time!
