September 2011 The View from the top. September 2011 As I sit here writing this newsletter column, our biggest event of the year is just next week, (The Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show) and the current group of those special friends will again work together to see that this year s Berger Show will be the very best it can be. It won t be long after that before the colors of fall will be upon us the kids will be back in school and summer will be gone. September WMCC Club Meeting. Sunday, August 28, 2011: Our September Club meeting will take place on AUGUST 28th 2010 at Revolution Styling in Hudsonville. Revolution builds some of the nicest custom 5th gen Camaro I have seen. We will be meeting at Berger Chevrolet at 10AM on Sunday August 28th and all caravan over to Revolution together. The plan is to be at Revolution at 11am for our club meeting, a tour of their shop and a BBQ lunch. Those not caravanning with us the address is: Revolution Styling 2430 Chicago Dr. Suite C Hudsonville, MI 49426 616.662.6638 12th Annual Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show August 27&28, 2011: It s hard to believe, but this year marks the 12th Annual Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show! By now, we have the running of this show pretty much down to a science. We plan to do things the same as always. We ll talk about our jobs and duties at our next Club meetings, so please plan to attend. We are all set for Feature Cars, T-shirts and Awards are all ordered. Be sure to pick up show fliers from me so we can all work together to spread them around. After hosting the Berger Show for all these years, we pretty much have the running of the show down to a science. I couldn t be more proud of how well our Club members work together and have run this show over the years. So, plan on all the usual jobs again this year. We ll be setting things up on Friday evening (tables, chairs, paperwork, folding and categorizing T-shirts, roping off some special sections of the lot, etc.). I plan to be at Berger around 6pm on Friday evening to get things started. We ll place as many Feature Cars as we can and wrap things up by 10pm. The show officially starts at 8am on Saturday morning. However, inevitably, there will be show entrants in the parking lot by 6am, so we ll need to get there as early as possible, by 6:30-6:45am at the latest. We ll set out all of our registration paperwork, position our parking workers and driveway/entry workers and open registration as early as we can. One of my biggest concerns is for our members that Doug Warren, WMCC Founder 1953-2010 You will never be forgotten 1

work out in the parking lot, either parking cars or manning the entry to the show. I want to make sure we have extra members that can relieve these workers from time to time. Standing out in the sun (hopefully!) for hours is the hardest job of all, so let s make sure we send relief workers out there and keep them supplied with water. For our newer members, don t worry. The jobs are pretty easy and everyone will be happy to help you out if you need it. We are having a Silent auction again this year. SO PLEASE bring an item or items for this auction. All proceeds from this auction will be given to Doug's favorite charity the Ronald McDonald house. We arranged for some great Feature Cars and there will be some special friends from out-of-town attending the show, so it s shaping up to be another great event. We ll see everyone there! This Will be a Great Show! Congrats Just wanted to share with everyone our trophy for Top 50 at the Riverfest Car Show here in Niles, Michigan. I also won $50.00 to Lanes Automotive for any Royal Purple products. Thanks, Loretta and Jim Banish Fall Color Tour Update John Smith has talked to the folks at Four seasons Motel in Baraga for the Friday night stop. The rate for the night will be $39 for that night instead of $59 that they have quoted him previously. John would also like to get a head count of people going to Classic Industries on Thursday so he can let them know. Please email john to RSVP for the Thurday tour. john.h.smith@gmch.com 2
