The annual Flat Point Clam Fest, on Sunday the 8th this year, was awesome. The weather couldn t have been better. We had lots of fine food, drink and friends. And let us not forget : Doug Cram and Lane Langford received their Vice and Rear Commodore pins. These, along with my Commodore s pin, will be handed down annually to the next officer in line. Jim Lett kicked off planning for the North Cruise We had a few guests who have indicated they re planning to join. Then, on Friday the 13th, we went straight into the Commodore s Cruise, which, from all accounts, was a smashing success. 14 vessels and 43 people attended. Probably the highest turn out ever. The weather could have been a bit better, but not much. The sun was out most of the time, and it only rained enough to wet the decks. The voyage from Lopez to Victoria was interesting, but not dangerous. I think most captains would agree that the entrance to Victoria was the most challenging, both for arrival and departure. From the dock party and potluck on Friday night to dinner Saturday evening, to the Sunday morning coffee, all was great!

COMMODORE S CORNER, continued The potluck, as usual, was tasty and plentiful. Roaming around Victoria was enjoyed by most. Some even had the opportunity to view the annual WNBR (World Naked Bike Ride) and the riders in all their natural accoutrements. Another highlight of the weekend was the annual birthday celebration for Steve Clark aboard their vessel Couverden. Thanks to Steve and Andrea for their hospitality and the great cake. to see how you can volunteer to help. Thank you, Ed. The event would definitely not have been such a success without the great help from Gayl Beller, Jane Simonson, Judy Welker and Arlene Sund. A huge round of applause there. From your Commodore, a giant thank to you all who attended. It s our members who make this such a fun yacht club. The next event is coming soon!
