This is usually because the topics are not set long in advance. Some more information to members would help. Observation about the website. When the membership secretary changes a members grade (eg after end of year scores) the website triggers an email to the member. But it comes from the Grading Officer. 3. FCC Prize 178.96 In the recent FCC inter club competition we won a raffle prize of a Canon Camera. We decided to keep it as a prize for 2019 3,891.93 Tutorial topics to be added to calendar on the website as soon as they are known Post tutorial topics about 3 weeks before the night John F (or replacement) John F (or replacement) Follow up to obtain the FCC prize Susan Near term 5. Competition matters 1. Comp rules, own work Decided not to pursue this matter but regularly remind members that their work must be their own 2. Judging - status for 2019 and new FCC list Sue has produced a useful guide for judges re our competition process to send with her initial request. 2 of 5
So far we have judges confirmed up to June, with a couple more in discussion Sue now has the new FCC judges list and will look for other judges for rest of year 3. Website entry for our new grades We cannot enter images into 2019 competitions yet because Colin is reorganising that section of the website. His own deadline is 7 Dec, then David W needs a few days to arrange forms for our new grades and formats. If Colin isn t ready we will need to use the old system. 4. Interclub competitions The Committee endorsed Dianne to co-ordinate any inter-club competitions on behalf of the club. Dianne to retain Committee role on website. Ian E proposed that we join PSA (Photographic Society of America) as a club and participate in their monthly (EDI) competitions. Ian offered to co-ordinate. Fee US$55. Proposal accepted by the Committee. 5. Definition of insects Final wording agreed and Sue to post definition. Insects: This will include insects, spiders and other similar creatures Post reminder to members in the month prior to announce who the judge for the next comp will be Follow up with Colin about 2019 entries on the website and add there relevant forms Give Ian E to a Committee role on the website so he can post information about the PSA and monthly competitions to interested members. (see also item 6.3) Sue David W David W, Ian E After 7 Dec ASAP Post definition of insects Sue Near term 6. Education Matters 1. Camera Skills Workshops 2019 Our workshops last year were well received and very helpful. Mike asked if we want to run them again in 2019, and if we do his ideal timing would be to complete before April. We need to investigate if a repeat course would be helpful or should selected aspects be repeated/enhanced. One of the problems will be location since we cannot book the Dobell Room. The fall back would ideally be the Auditorium, but also consider Ian N s boat shed and a working bee to fix it up as a venue 2. Presenters Dianne will actively seek external presenters to support our tutorial nights. She has proposed asking Adriano Carrideo to present at one meeting. Topic to be 3 of 5
decided, but could include landscapes and street photography. This would be for a larger than normal meeting and a fee is likely, but we could invite nearby Camera Clubs. Accepted by the Committee. 3. Special interest group Ian E proposed to start a special interest group for members who would like to enter international competitions. Accepted by the Committee. Survey members about interest in Camera Skills Workshops Susan ASAP Reactivate the Camera Skills Workshop subcommittee Investigate venue for Camera Skills Workshop. Saturday Morning to continue. Invite Adriano Carrideo. Also need to check on availability of auditorium. It will not be a Monday. Post a message about the new international special interest group with explanation to test interest.
