We are looking for troops to run stations for Webelos Woods/Fall Camporee. If your troop or patrol would be interested in running a station, email Anthony with your station of interest. All material will be at the assigned locations for the event. Station Mayors will need to check in Saturday morning at the registration table either in the Trading Post or Dining Hall before reporting to the station. For Up-To-Date information please sign up for Texts alerts, sent to 81010 and the message is @fallwebw. This will allow the camp staff to contact units prior to camp and while at camp about changes to the schedule, incumbent weather, and other information.

All other meals are the responsibility of the unit(s). Early Bird Registration will end September 20, 2017. General Registration will end the day of the event. Early Bird Cost 9/20/17 General Cost $13.00 $20.00 The campsite fee is included in the general cost of camp. If you have not already done so, contact Janet Jury by email or text to reserve your site. General Rules and Info for Webelos Woods. ALL TRASH MUST BE DISPOSED IN THE DUMPSTERS AT THE MAIN PARKING LOT. ALL WATER WILL BE RETRIEVED AT THE THREE FROST FREEZE FOUNTAINS AT EITHER THE ROTARY CABIN, AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CULVERT, OR BEHIND THE LATRINE ACROSS FROM THE RIFLE RANGE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO KEEP HYDRATED THROUGHOUT THE DAY! THESE STATIONS ARE NOT DISH WASHING STATIONS. Medical Forms & Health Officer: As stated in the Guide to Safe Scouting, leaders should have the Annual Health and Medical Form for each unit member participating in Webelos Woods. These are especially important to have if a boy will be attending Webelos Woods/ Fall Camporee without a parent. The form can be downloaded from the Lake Erie Council Website. The Health Office is located off the camp office; the health officer will be on staff 24 hours a day throughout the weekend. Sign in/check in: - ALL SCOUTS AND ADULTS WHO ARE ATTENDING THE EVENT AT CAMP STIGWANDISH MUST SIGN IN AT THE CAMP OFFICE!!! Adult Participation In order to comply with Youth Protection Two Deep guidelines, all members of your troop must have Youth Protection. One of the adults must be a registered BSA leader. Alcoholic Beverages and Drugs - Possession and/or use of alcoholic beverages or drugs are prohibited. You will be asked to leave the Fall Camporee if found with either and may be prosecuted.
Dining Hall The Dining Hall will be open 24 Hours as the emergency shelter. If severe weather were to pop up, anyone is able to take shelter in the dining hall. Emergency Drills: Within 15 hours of arrival at camp we will be having a lost scout drill. When the alarm sounds all units and participants are to report as a full unit to the flag plaza. Please line up behind your troop flag and wait further instruction. Parking, Driving & Trailers in Camp Please park all vehicles in the main parking lot or up at the Boat House. We will be using the REMIND system to let units know if we are able to allow trailers into the campsites. Those camping out west can park at the boat house. Those camping outback can park trailers at the dining hall, and all others will remain in the main lot. More details to come as the council makes improvements to camp road. Please sign up for the REMIND system for the latest updates. Webelos Woods 2017 Event Information Volunteer Opportunities- WE NEED YOU!!! We are looking for troops to run stations for the Fall Camporee/Webelos Woods. If your troop or patrol would be interested in running a station, email Anthony with your station of interest. All material will be at the assigned locations for the event. Station Mayors will need to check in Saturday morning at the registration table either in the Trading Post or Dining Hall before reporting to the station. Leader s Meeting- Leaders are expected to attend the leaders meeting, which will be held at 9 pm Friday evening in the dining hall. Please bring your SPL and all material you will need for the meeting. Skits: All troops/packs are encouraged to perform a short skit at campfire. Keep your skit to 3 minutes or less. Units should be prepared to submit your campfire skits for approval at the Friday Night Leaders meeting to the event chairman. Showers: The Shower House will be open for all to use. Sign in/check In- Scoutmasters and SPL s, please have a FULL TYPED ROSTER of all your scouts and adults ready at check in, along with a form of payment (if you have additional registrations). You should use the roster attached to this document. Check Out- Once your unit is ready to check out, please walk up to the office to sign out of camp and to notify the staff, you are in need of a site inspection. Once your site has been inspected you are good to leave camp, and patches will be handed out. Please patrol your campsite. Please tip your picnic table against a tree or in the pavilion in the site to prevent weather damage. Camp wide Service Projects- All Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts Units are required to come and help make our camp fell like home. Each unit will be assigned a service project at check in. This is to be performed from the 1 to 2 o clock hour on Saturday. A commissioner will be around to check out the improvement! Camp Wide Game- Photo Scavenger Hunt. All units will have exactly one hour to go around and get a verity of picture for points. Scouts will need a digital camera or a phone capable of taking pictures. More information will come Friday at the leaders meeting. This event will take place Saturday at 4pm. Please meet at the dining hall.

Webelos Program Events: At each station please be prepared to show your patrol flag and perform your patrol yell. Event One: Fishing, come up to Ecology to see who can catch the largest fish. The scout who accomplishes this goal will receive a prize at campfire. Poles and bait will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own pole. Event Two: First Responder Complete 1 and at least five others. 1. 1. Explain what first aid is. Tell what you should do after an accident. 2. Show what to do for hurry cases of first aid: Serious bleeding, heart attack or sudden cardiac arrest, stopped breathing, stroke, poisoning 3. Show how to help a choking victim. 4. Show how to treat for shock. 5. Demonstrate how to treat at least five of the following: a. Cuts and scratches, b. Burns and scalds, c. Sunburn, d. Blisters on the hand or foot, e. Tick bites, f. Bites and stings of other insects, g. Venomous snakebites, h. Nosebleed, i. Frostbite Station mayor: Please have supplies to help put together one general first aid kit for the demonstration. If at all possible see if you can get in touch with a medial personal (i.e., nurse, paramedic, fireman, or doctor) to see if they can come out and talk with the group. Station Three: Archery. Come down to archery range and shoot a bow and arrow. Station mayor needs to keep track of number of arrows shot and the score. The mayor needs to be a Range Safety Officer. The shooting sports staff must include NCS/NRA instructors.
Station Four: Cast Iron, use your cooking abilities to cook a simple meal. 1. Gather materials to build a fire. 2. The fire must be able to burn for at least 10 minutes. a. Make sure you gather enough materials to keep the fire well stocked. 3. After, gather up a good cooking stick to be able to cook 2 hotdogs over the fire. 4. Once done, put the fire out and make sure you leave no trace in the end. Station Five: Station 4, Sports. Station mayor must come up with a simple game, such as kick ball, human foosball, or whiffle ball for the unit to play. Make sure you will have 2 teams at a time preferably 2 units playing against one another. Boy Scout Program Areas: At each station please be prepared to show your patrol flag and perform your patrol yell. Event One: Fishing, come up to Ecology to see who can catch the largest fish. The scout who accomplishes this goal will receive a prize at campfire. Poles and bait will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own pole. Event Two: Shot Gun, come down to the Shot Gun range and see if you can hit 3 clay pidgins in a row. Any Boy Scout who can hit all three will be recognized at Closing Campfire. Station mayor needs to keep track of the score. The mayor needs to be a Range Safety Office. The shooting sports staff must be NCS/NRA instructors. Event Three: A-Frame Race, gather pioneering poles from the woods or bring them from home to properly lash an A-Frame together for time. This A-Frame must be able to hold a large rock. Please remember to bring your own rope. Troop with the best time will be recognized at closing campfire. Event Four: First Aid, Station mayor come up with an event that involves first aid techniques of your choosing to help with advancement. This can also be a race, or a made up situation. Station Five: Orienteering, Stations mayors come up with a course for the scouts to enjoy. Please keep in mind scouts only have 45 minutes and it must be able to be completed. Other Volunteers: We need a Friday night parking lot coordinator, morning and closing flag coordinator and a closing campfire coordinator. Please email Anthony if any units are interested. ADULT LEADERS: Scoutmaster Specific/Outdoor Leadership Skills Training will be offered at the Fall Camporee. This training will be taking place Friday-Saturday Evening. Check the Lake Erie Council calendar for cost and registration. This training will be taking place at the B.P. Lodge at Camp Stigwandish!
