BUR/VNY WEESL ONE STAR (RNAV) The WEESL STAR de-conflicts BUR/VNY prop arrivals from the LAX WAYVE STAR The design moved tracks away from historical tracks to segregate BUR/VNY traffic from LAX WAYVE traffic The procedure transitions over high terrain in a sparsely populated area The STAR reduces flight miles Administration 7
LAS STAAV SEVEN SID (RNAV) Modified to incorporate Metroplex waypoint(s) No impact to Industry for November 10, 2016 chart date Administration 8
LAS TRALR SEVEN SID (RNAV) Modified to incorporate Metroplex waypoint(s) No impact to Industry for November 10, 2016 chart date Administration 9
LAX/SMO WAYVE ONE STAR (RNAV) The current LAX STAR prop STAR is a conventional ground based procedure Lateral path is inefficient and does not follow the procedure The Design Team developed a procedure without vertical navigation due to complex interaction with other SIDs and STARS and added SMO as a benefit The STAR provides a segregated route from BUR and VNY airports entering the terminal area LAX traffic on this procedure are props only Vertical navigation is by LOA Administration 10
LGB/SNA/SLI/FUL/TOA KAYOH SIX (Conventional) Modified to incorporate Metroplex waypoint(s) No impact to Industry for November 10, 2016 chart date Administration 11
ONT & ONT Satellites SETER FOUR STAR (Conventional) Modified to incorporate Metroplex waypoint(s) No impact to Industry for November 10, 2016 chart date Administration 12
SAN BAYVU FIVE STAR (RNAV) Updated BAYVU FOUR to BAYVU FIVE to tie into SAN RNAV/RNP Runway 27 approach SAN COMIX STAR will replace the BAYVU FIVE STAR on the March 2, 2017 chart date Administration 13
SAN LUCKI ONE STAR (RNAV) The LUCKI STAR is an OPD The STAR is deconflicted from the SAN ZZOOO SID and the SDM/NZY CHASR STAR The lateral path was modified to avoid SAA Administration 14
SAN ZZOOO ONE SID (RNAV) The RNAV off-theground ZZOOO SID replaces the current POGGI SID The design circumnavigates a busy PAJA The SID is deconflicted from the SAN LUCKI/TOPGN and SDM/NZY CHASR STARs Administration 15
SBA GAUCH ONE SID (RNAV) There is no current procedure for north bound departures The SID was designed as RNAV-off-the ground Concurrence of the design was achieved with the airport operator, pilot groups and ATC in this noise sensitive area Administration 16
SBA MISHN ONE SID (RNAV) The current east bound procedure is radar vectors The SID was designed as RNAV-off-the ground Concurrence of the design was achieved with the airport operator, pilot groups and ATC in this noise sensitive area Administration 17
SBA PITBL ONE STAR (RNAV)* There is no existing published procedure for SBA This STAR will reduce complexity and verbiage between ATC and flight crews providing a repeatable and predictable path for SBA arrivals. The STAR was not designed with an OPD, but contains altitude restrictions to de-conflict from SAN departures and LAX arrivals This procedure will be N/A until April 27, 2017 Administration 18
SDM CHASR ONE STAR (RNAV) The CHASR STAR was designed to segregate SDM and NZY arrivals from SAN arrivals The STAR was designed as a RNAV procedure with OPD benefits To reduce complexity for ATC, the CHASR STAR shares the same route as the SAN TOPGN STAR (SAN east flow) which moves the flow away from other SAN arrival flight tracks Administration 19
Traffic Management for Implementation No national traffic management initiatives are expected to be requested for the November 10, 2016 chart cycle On a day-to-day basis, ZLA periodically initiates MIT TMIs to adajacent en route facilities to manage the SAN arrival rate Periodic TMIs may be slightly higher than normal during peak traffic periods for implementation of Metroplex procedures ZLA typically applies 10 MIT from the east, 15 MIT from the north, or increased stream settings when metering Current TMI s may increase by 5-10 miles, as needed, during times of heavy traffic The periodic application of increased MITs may be in effect for up to two weeks after the November 10 chart date There is potential for periodic departure flow restrictions over IPL/TRM for the ZLA area(s) most impacted by Phase 1 procedures Expectation is there would be no delays that would exceed 15 minutes Administration 20
CDR and Playbook Changes for San Diego LUCKI1 (RNAV) STAR November 10, 2016 Replaces the BARET5 and LYNDI4 in the CDR and Playbook databases. Individual facility modifications may be made in the Route Management Tool (RMT) beginning 9/15/2016 through 10/5/2016 Administration 21
