COMBAT ACTIVITY OF THE ENEMY During the day, the Muslim aggressor provoked along the main part of the ZP Mostar frontline, chiefly by opening fire from infantry weapons and from sniper rifles. On few occasions during the day such provocations on the transmitter and Donji BuiCi in Sector North; in Bijelo Polje, Rastani and along the frontline in town and on Cekrk and Stotina were recorded. South of Cekrk and in most parts of Sector South was calm. A group of 200 to 250 soldiers and civilians moving from Podgorani towards the north was spotted. Serbs fired two MB /mortar/ mines on Hodovo today at 12: 10 hours, but without effect. 2. I am hereby sending you the information that we have in connection with the above incident. 1./ The Old Bridge on the Neretva had been damaged and threatened by the ravages of time even before the war so that a few years ago a plan was made for its restoration and it was restored to a certain extent. 2.1 The Serbian aggressor shelled the bridge and damaged it. 0151-8522-0151-8523/amk

Draft translation LQQ54566 3.1 The Old Bridge was in the immediate vicinity of the line of separation under the control of the Muslim army, which used it for military purposes (crossings of the army and transport and transfer of weapons, artillery and other military equipment). 4.1 The MOS /Muslim Armed Forces/ did not mark the Old Bridge according to the international regulations of UNICEF and did not demand from the HVO any special protection measures with regard to the Old Bridge. The UNICEF flag was not raised on the bridge because, in that case, they could not have used it themselves in combat operations and for combat operations. 5.1 HVO units never targeted the Old Bridge and destroying it was not the aim. Defending themselves against numerous attacks by the MOS from the direction of the Old Bridge towards Podhum and the Franciscan church, where there were many breakthroughs of the defence line, units fired at the enemy's manpower and materiel near the bridge. The Old Bridge was destroyed as a consequence of combat operations because that area has been the scene of fierce clashes since the beginning of the conflict.
