Chapter R is planning to be a the restaurant at approx. 11:30am. We will meet at the Smith s on the corner of Central and Tramway at 7:30am, KSU/TIG at 8:am. This will give us one comfort stop. Oso Grille won the 2018 NM State Fair contest for best green chili burger! Chapter Director Richard Mummey drwrcr688@msn.com Hello all! As you can guess from this newsletter, our gathering happens to be the same day a St. Patrick s Day. Hope you have something green to wear. We also have a seminar on trailering after our gathering. A couple of weeks ago, I sent a notice about the passing of Gary and Janet Longhurst daughter. Below is a note from Janet and Gary. Thank you all our GWRRA friends As you all know Gary and I lost our precious daughter, Chrissie on February 21 st. We would like to thank each and every one of you for the kind words, the cards, the calls, the flowers and messages and the food! This is a very sad time for us and has completely changed the course of our lives. Our two older grandchildren Joshua and Michael and have gone to live with their Dad in Burbank, California and are already busy with a new school and scout pack. No GW for them there though, as their dad is too much of a wuss to ride a motorbike ha ha ha. Emilia Rose is with us presently and remains a very contented baby and oblivious to the fact her mummy is no longer with us. Again, Gary and I thank each of you for everything, at this very sad time for us, Janet and Gary Our continued thoughts and prayers to the Longhurst family. 2019 GWRRA FOUR CORNERS RALLY August 16,17,18 at the Beautiful Sky Ute Casino Resort in Ignacio, Colorado Rooms will be $120.00 per night and there are 125 rooms and the rooms will be going fast. This is a combined rally with the four districts: New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado to bring you the "4 Corners Rally". This exciting event is going to be held in Ignacio, CO at the Sky Ute Casino Resort. This location is prime and it offers many beautiful riding adventures for us. Approved On-Bike Rider Courses Last month we reviewed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Street Strategies ecourse. This course fulfills the Classroom requirement when combined with an acceptable Range Only course. As a reminder, on-bike rider courses expire after three (3) years and are required to remain current in your Levels. Also available to us is a newly approved rider course that qualifies for Range Only credit. The Arizona Drill Team Skill Enhancement Program has been added to our list of approved programs. This free one day program is taught by the Drill Team and focuses on improving riding and braking skills. Kudos to the Drill Team for volunteering their time to improve our riding skills! See the following page for a current list of GWRRA approved Rider Courses. Scheduled Seminar The last seminar of the quarter will be held immediately following Chapter W s meeting, so come join us for breakfast at 7:30 a.m., a meeting at 8:30 a.m., and training to commence at approximately 9:45 a.m. All ARE WELCOME! If the course is listed as No in the May be taken consecutively for Levels column, it may be used in the Levels, but the next rider course must be a course listed as Yes. The courses listed with a N o are essentially Range/Track Day or Parking Lot Practice type courses and must be alternated with a more traditional course that covers all the topics of safe riding.
