P PACK SADDLE AND PICKET LINE 2016 OFFICERS We had a huge turn out for our April meeting, wow! We need to have Linda Skinner, be our guest speaker more often, she packs the house! We have some beautiful weather in store, for our upcoming Work Projects - Work projects can also be fun rides, so please come join us - It s a great opportunity to work together, to help clear our trails, to ride, and to get out and enjoy our beautiful, Colorado weather, and scenery - TRAIL COURTESY: While riding in the back-country, smile and say "howdy" to folks you meet along the way. Observe the basics of trail courtesy: In steep, rough, country, downhill traffic usually yields to uphill traffic - If you have a spot to move to, please do so, and let the other folks pass by - Folks on bikes, on foot, or whatever the case may be, should yield to stock traffic, because it's easier for them to move off the trail - If they don't, smile and yield the way, or ask them to move below the trail - Folks that aren't familiar with stock, may not know what to do or how to avoid spooking the animals - May All Your Rides Be Good Ones - Debi Weger APRIL 2016 PRESIDENT S THOUGHTS It was with great sadness that we learned about the passing of Sandy Fuller at our April meeting. PICKET LINE Sandy was one of the founding members of Rocky Mountain Back Country Horsemen in 1992. He was our second president - serving from 1994-1995. Among his many contributions to our club, he was the first editor of the newsletter, our first projects chairperson, and helped set up and run along with Bill Huber our first Poker Ride in 1992. Great person and he LOVED to ride. His goal was to ride three hundred days a year and he met his goal almost every year.
