April 15 th and 16th 2016 Bakersfield swap meet April 18-21 nd Tour to Death Valley based out of Stovepipe New Business: Bylaws Doug provided us with proposed changes that are more in synch with our current operating structure, participation, touring, offices held. We would like to have participation, period. Keep in mind we are trying to impress on people the Model T and its existence. Everyone will be able to review the bylaws and the proposed changes were discussed at length. Underachieving and overachieving Model T s need to use common sense and courtesy on the road. Doug will make small changes and send out well in advance of our next meeting and we will bring this up for vote, either by email or at the next meeting. The Opportunity drawing of $28.00 was won by Craig French. The meeting was adjourned about 8:07. Respectfully submitted, Karen December 2015 Hidden Valley Model T Club Commutator Page 2
Driving Tour to Julian A Hidden Valley Model T tour today, the group with the Vic & Stephanie Terrell, Dale & Eleanor Stanfield, Craig & Barbara French and Mac & Diane with the Trouble Truck started just North of Escondido and drove up through Valley Center, Puma Valley then to Lake Henshaw. Tony & Heather drove from Ramona, thru Santa Isabel, to meet them at the cafe by the lake. The whole group drove down San Filipe Canyon to Scissor Crossing and then back into Julian up Banner Grade where we had lunch. My little Coupe was a little slower than the other Ts but I made the Banner grade in Ruckstell at between 20-25mph, which I though was pretty good. It got into high a couple of times, but my speed dropped round all the bends to where the engine was lugging, so I just stayed in Ruckstell. We found parking behind the museum, Julian always seems busy, and had lunch. The main group decided to leave Julian at 2pm, but Heather & I left immediately after lunch to get back down the hill to Ramona long before sundown. Karen & John Pepe had planned to join us but had problems driving down from Temecula. The engine on the coupe got too hot and made some nasty noises. After it cooled down they returned to home but on a later test it overheated again. Strange... It was a good tour, lots of driving. San Filipe grade was exciting, nice wide road and mostly downgrade... Stephanie told me the total run was about 136 miles, which given the elevation changes is quite a days run in a Model T. As usual we thanked Mac & Diane for their Trouble Truck services. As ever great run and wonderful company. TonyB December 2015 Hidden Valley Model T Club Commutator Page 3
