Santa Elf s It was cold outside, but inside Santa s workshop it was warm. A special thank you to the Master Bow Maker, Janet Eubank. Page 4 WINGWORD Chapter A Family of the Year 2014 Congratulations to Alan & Sherry Highland It is always fun to ask about motorcycle trips, so I was able to get an exclusive interview with Alan and Sherry: 1. What was your favorite road to ride? Our favorite rode was the mountain view run out of Harrison, Ark riding 168 miles with 602 curves. 2. What was your favorite State to ride in? Probably would be South Dakota, seeing Mt Rushmore for the first time was pretty awesome. 3. A crazy story that happened on a motorcycle trip? Watching Sherry take pictures on Skyline drive in Cannon City, CO with her eyes closed. 4. Wish list of place(s) to ride your motorcycle? Our biggest wish is to ride up and down the entire east coast within sight of the Atlantic ocean. The winter months are long and riding seems far away. Page 6 WINGWORD The December meeting of Chapter A GWTA was our annual Christmas party. Held on Dec 14, at 6:00pm at Calvary Church. There were 26 members present. Birthdays for this month are Kelly Felix and Brian Melson (brother-in-laws) go figure. EJ and Jackie Kuntz celebrate an anniversary. The dinner ham was provided by Kelly & Donna Felix. Thanks. Also pot luck was provided by other members. Hopefully, no one went away hungry. John & Janet, directors, recognized members for their added efforts to the club upkeep, Gail & Jorja Hensley, Rick & Cathy Frost, John & Anita McCune and Kelly & Donna Felix. We want to thank Janet Eubank for the bows on the tables and cubes. The table decorations were given to Barbara McCart, Allen Highland, Carolyn Winn, Donna Felix, Linda Mendenhall and Roger Olsen. After a great meal the boy/girl gifts were passed around. Then, we played two games of dirty bingo before saying our Merry Christmas and good-byes. Now back to the chapter news: John asked for nominations for directors, but after they were asked to stay, they agreed. YEAH! YEAH! Webber 50/50 money was $38 won by Newt No mystery gift was given being held for January meeting The member # was 105768 (Gary&Nancy Wood) not present so money is held over. January meeting is the 18 th, we will have a chili feed at the Calvary Church No polar bear ride. Instead, we will go for a ground hog day ride on Feb 2nd with first gear at 1pm leaving Braums at Seneca & Douglas. More information to follow. The CHILL is Feb 28 thru Mar 2 at the old Coliseum Pavilion. More information to follow. Gold Rush is at Boyne Mountain Michigan in July. Onto the 2013 Chapter A Riding Contest as provided by Jorja Hensley: Apr was Lindsborg, May was Cassoday, June was KS Star Casino, July was Dexter candy factory, Aug was Yoder, Sept was Bob s Bike in Kingman Winner was Janet Eubank ( Highway 66 book) 2 nd place was Renee Sawyer ( KS road book and Byway map) 2014 contest is traveling to 3 different places with museum in the name.
