See the Volunteering page of the website for reasons why volunteering is fun at Estrella, and to see where you can work a couple of hours to share the load. Then sign up to volunteer using the online form, or visit Volunteer Point to sign up when you arrive at the event. Atenveldt's Call sung to: Lord of the Dance Words by Lord Brian Ambrose O'Driscoll Grab up your shield and strap on your sword, It's time to fight for the honor of your Lord! Don't claim to be sleeping when you hear Aten's call, It's time to make her enemies all fall CHORUS: Fight, fight, whoever you may be. Come to the call of the Royalty! I'll stand with you as you fight by me, And together we'll share Atenveldt's glory! Form up the ranks and hold those shields high! Archers draw back and let your arrows fly! Polemen stand by to give a mighty thrust, For we all bear Atenveldt's trust. The forces rush together as the call cries Lay On! We won't stop fighting til the enemy's all gone. Bodies on the ground as far as one can see, As we fight towards Atenveldt's Victory! The fighting's all over, and the battle is won. Another victory for the warriors of the Sun! As night starts falling at the parties that we host, To our beloved Atenveldt we toast! Over the mountain dawns the morning sun... The party's all over and a new day begun... They'll fight mightily against any foe... Twas only the drink that could lay our warriors low! Palm Prints 20 February 2009

Around the Kingdom Artisan s Alley comes to Estrella War Oyez! Oyez! To the Artisans of the Knowne World! We would like to invite you to take part in the A&S Collegium s and the Period Demo Center s Arisan s Alley, similar to Gulf War s Artisan s Row. Artisan s Alley will be running From Wednesday through Saturday. (Sunday is the Artisan s Showcase in the Grand Court Pavilion and I hope to see many of you there). Artisan s Alley will give you the opportunity to see people working on different types of art and craft projects. It will be a place for people to talk to others about techniques, problems and solutions with projects they are working on with people active in their art forms, and to get ideas for working on new projects. So who are we looking for? What types of art forms and crafts? Ideally you will need to be able to explain what you are doing and how you do it, either oneon-one or small groups. Volunteers can be individuals, groups, or guilds working for a block of time, to demonstrate their particular art-form and display information and documentation about it. A weaving guild might come in for an entire day with looms, books, examples of their work. Groups of embroiderers might demo period embroidery techniques. An armorer can explain the right and proper method of hammering a rivet. Laurels can come with their apprentices and do a demo and display for an afternoon. All artists may drop in to find shelter from the elements and practice their arts, and all are welcome to come and enjoy the creative energy of such a gathering. Among the crafts we are looking for is pewter casting, wood carvers, wood workers, potters, entertainers, period games, cutting and sewing tunics, jewelry making, armoring, bookbinding, fiber and scribal arts or just about anything that you can do. The Period Demo Center and Period Encampment will be located next to the A&S area and Estrella Collegium. Making this area an ideal location to supplement classes being taught at the Collegium and provide more hands-on time for your students. Tables will be provided in the A&S collegium area and in shaded spaces close by. If you or anyone you know would like to help with the Artisan s Alley, A&S Collegium and/or Period Demo Center project, please contact: A&S Collegium Coordinator- Dame Jennifer Trethewy: EWCollegium@EstrellaWar.org PDC Coordinator - Baroness Ann Bushnell of Tylehurst: MLadyAnnB@aol.com or Baroness Cynthia de Wickersham (Cynthia Baker) vikingbead@aol.com or visit the website at http://www.estrellawar.org Letters of Intent Due For Crown List Palm Prints 21 February 2009
