This will be a real short newsletter. While reviewing our insurance needs, we decided to contact our agent about the coverage on our Discovery. We told her we weren t going to be using it for a couple of months (unfortunately) and asked if coverage could be suspended. We were told everything but comprehensive coverage could be suspended and this would lower our premium considerably during this time. We were told we could re-instate the coverage whenever we wanted to and also suspend it whenever the D was going to be in storage. It might be worth while checking with your agent to see if you can suspend coverage also. Next, our Rally schedule. I would like to ask our volunteers to try to get firm dates so Toni Calzone can add them to our web site and the DOAI web site. This will also help us all plan ahead. Let s not forget the SE Area DOAI Rally April 20-26, 2009. I ve added a registration form to the newsletter. Let s have a good showing, it s a great time to

get together and we can plan our group s outings for the year and get the D ready for the season. If you want to get the DOAI EXPRESS (the DOAI newsletter) electronically, contact Nina Stoltwedel at nina.soltwedel@gmail.com and let her know. She will add you to the list. This could save the DOAI considerable money by not having to print and mail hard copies to the 1,500 plus members of the DOAI. Alice and I would like to wish all a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and a Happy New Year and Seasons Greetings to all. TREASURERS REPORT As of December 1, 2008 we have $2,204.87 in the Mason-Dixon Discoverys account. DUES Just a reminder the Mason-Dixon Discoverys dues of $12.00 are due January 1, 2009. Please send your dues to Alice Ricciardi 477 The Gardens Dr., Crossville, TN 38555. Please make your check payable to Mason-Dixon Discoverys. PRAYER LIST Please keep the following in your prayers. All chapter members are highly encouraged to attend the upcoming SE Region Rally, 20-26 April 2009, at River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville, TN (near Pigeon Forge). The registration form can be found online at the DOAI website or in the fall issue of the Discovery Express. A copy of the registration form for this rally is also attached to this newsletter. Tony and Heide Bohn are planning a rally in the area of Chincoteague, VA in May, 2009 Glen Camp is hosting a Rally in White Sulfur Springs, WV, with the Blue Ridge Discoverys and we are invited and encouraged to attend. Rally dates are June 10 to 14, with early arrivals June 8 and 9. Bill and Marti Katterhenry are planning to host an early summer rally at Caney Creek RV Resort, Harriman, TN. (about 20 miles west of Knoxville). This is a beautiful water front RV resort with activities for the whole family. Dick and Sue Smith will host a late summer rally at Grandfather Campground, near Boone, NC. The High Country area of North Carolina is a stunning part of the Southeast. There are many outdoor activities in this area. Larry and Mary Anne Weinberg and Marshall and Becky Godwin will host a fall rally in the Jamestown / Williamsburg, VA area. This is planned for the last week in October.

Look on the Mason-Dixon chapter section of the DOAI website for updated rally information. The website will be updated as information becomes available.
