A Word from your Chapter Director David Grumpy Williams Halloween is over and it is time to look forward to the holidays. Keep in mind that the after Thanksgiving ride, staring our own Rob Runion. It will be a great ride and I encourage all the guys to go, if possible. Don t forget to fill up on turkey first and give thanks for a year that on one in the chapter got seriously injured. I know we had some scrapes and bruises, however A2 members rode many safe miles this summer. Thanks to all of you for being as careful as you could!! Just a note to let all of you know, we as a chapter will be thirty years old next year!!! What a remarkable run A2 has had. This would not have been possible without the outstanding members you all are!!! I look forward to another Thirty Years. Remember this Saturday is our member appreciation lunch at my Shop. We will discuss this more at the gathering this Wednesday. Jany & Penny will fill everyone in on what to bring. I look forward to seeing all of you at gathering Wednesday evening. If any of you think of anything you want done to your bikes before Spring.now would be a good time to plan for repairs. Let me know if I can help you out. If any of you are still riding be sure to watch out for wet leaves on the roadway. Remember: Keep the rubber on the road.
A Word from your ACD s Mike & Penny Don't forget to mark your calendars...the A-2 Officers will host an appreciation luncheon at Grumpy's shop on November 18th at noon. We will provide lunch & drinks and ask the members to please bring a dessert. Since we aren't having a chapter picnic this year, we decided to have a luncheon instead. Hope you all can make it! Hello A2, Penny and I have been away for a week and coming home to lows 30s weather, BURR,. Well we do live in Indiana were if you don t like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change. You might think the riding season is over, but NO my friend we have coming the day after Thanksgiving the Famous Frosty Balls ride, 5 days heading South. This year the Dragon s Tail and the surrounding area. The ride leaves Friday morning Nov 24 th and you get back home Tuesday Nov. 28 th. Over the last few years we have traveled down the Old Natchez trace, Stone Mountain GA, Huntsville Alabama, New Orleans, Mabel Alabama, Andersonville GA., and West Virginia We go no matter what the temp. But if slick the ride is off, just lucky for us it has been dry and cold over the last 7 years. Rob has some stops planed for the ride.. Please join us!!!!
Words from your Chapter Educators Thad & Robin Smith It s that time of year again. Yes, fall. Yes end of the riding season but, most of all its flu season. I know it s not a greatly exciting subject but I care enough about you all to want to keep you around as long as possible. It s a very simple. This month there is no talk about safety checks. No droning on about proper safety equipment. Nothing about checking your tires, watching other drivers or watching for jackasses. Just get your flu shot. It s that simple. The Center for Disease Control statistic shows that approximately 36,000 people die every year from the influenza virus. Statistics also show that you decrease your chance of contracting the flu virus if you get vaccinated for it. I know that many of you are concerned about what you are going to do to fill your time at the gatherings when all the new changes happen and my position is changes but don t worry. I will stick around to bug the crap out of you. Be sure to get your flu vaccines Just do it!! Everyone start thinking about rides you may want to go on. Even if you don t want to lead but have an idea for a ride, lets get it planned.
News from our MEC s Ken & Roberta Badger Remember you can call me at 317-441-9611, or e-mail me at kbadger@iquest.net if you have an idea for a ride.

Sour Grapes Ron & Sandi Mendenhall Kerry sent a text to Annette, asking if she had seen a 12 inch rod with 2 nuts around the house. She was at work and thought it was another one of his pranks so she just ignored it. Kerry had used his John Deere tractor to spread the new gravel in the drive. When he went to put the mower deck back on, he was missing a 12 inch gold colored rod with a nut on each end, which is used to lift the mower deck once it is installed back on the tractor. Kerry had to order a new 12 inch rod with 2 nuts from John Deere and he is not sure where or when he lost the original. Craig and Joanie had gone to her cousin s funeral and when they returned home and he went to the bathroom, Craig noticed he had worn his shirt wrong side out, all evening, even during the funeral home visit. Ron Fisher goes uptown each morning for coffee with his buddies. He normally gets dressed and then sits on the bed to put his shoes on in the dark so he doesn t wake Janet up. Last week when he got to the restaurant one of his buddies asked if he had on new shoes on and Ron said no. Why had he asked? Ron had put the shoes on the wrong feet and they were asking if this was a new design? The other day Craig was in charge of putting the Sheridan Fire flag on the pole at work. Later Joanie stopped by and she noticed the flag was upside down. Mike likes racing stripes on his cars, truck and his arm. He was working with a wire brush in a drill cleaning up some parts when someone said something to him. He looked up and the drill caught on something and climbed up his arm while it was still running leaving a large red strip up his arm from his wrist to his elbow. Mike you need to stay focused or shut the drill off while talking!!! Jim Morrison and I went to Wings Over the Smokies, on the last morning we stayed at an old motel which did not serve breakfast. So I asked for restaurants on my GPS and it showed up with 3 in the small town. The GPS directed us to drive around the block and stop at the other side of the motel for the first restaurant which was a grocery store and not a restaurant. Not my fault but Jim seems to think so?? My secretary failed to pick up the sour grapes from my dresser and bring them to the meeting, so I guess I will keep them and wear them proudly for this month.
