We will begin our journey on land in Zagreb, the Capital of Croatia; visiting Castles in the region of Zagorje; enjoying a picnic in the Gorski Kotar region; yodeling at the top of the Julian Alps and listening to the Sea Organ in Zadar. The second part of our journey will have us boarding our chartered vessel, The MS Vita where will set sail to island hop among the Northern Islands of Croatia. DAY BY DAY ITINERARY Day 01: Thursday June 30, 2016 Depart home cities (Contact Kollander Travel for flight options and cost) Day 02: Friday - July 1st 2016 Arrive in Zagreb Upon arrival to Zagreb, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Zagreb. Dinner and overnight at hotel (D) Day 03: Saturday - July 2nd 2016 Zagreb Breakfast at hotel and morning at leisure to visit the Open Market. Around noon start the sightseeing tour of Zagreb with local guide. Possible visit to Orphanage in late afternoon. Tonight, a traditional Croatian dinner will be served at Zlatni Medo Restaurant. Overnight at hotel (B,D) Day 04: Sunday July 3rd 2016 Zagreb Breakfast at your hotel and enjoy the morning at leisure or attending church at the Cathedral. Late morning, board our coach for a scenic day of traveling through the region of Zagorje; stopping in Marija Bistrica which has an old Marian Shrine of the Black Madonna and is a place of pilgrimage. Pope John Paul II also visted here. We will then travel to enjoy an early dinner at Gresna Gorica, a tourist farm overlooking Veliki Tabor Castle. Return to Zagreb.(B,D) Day 05: Monday July 4th 2016 Zagreb Ljubljana Bled Departure from Zagreb. On the way stop at Otočec and free time for coffee and then continue to Ljubljana. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the capital of Slovenia and have some free time on your own.continue to Bled. Dinner and overnight at hotel (B,D) Day 06: Tuesday July 5th 2016 Bled and Bohinj Morning visit of Bled castle perched on a cliff above the lake. Then we will travel by bus to the nearby Bohinj and take cable car to Mt Vogel and admire the charming views. Return back to lake shore and enjoy a late lunch at a local Gostilna. Return to Bled. Overnight in Bled (B,L) Day 07:Wednesday July 6th 2016 Bled- Radovljica- Fužine Morning at leisure-with an optional visit of the Bled island. Noon departure for Radovljica where we will visit a Ginger bread museum and have lunch. Continue to Fužine, dinner and overnight at hotel (B,L,D) Day 08: Thursday July 7th 2016 Gorski Kotar Village Hopping Day with Sonja, Steve and Katie. Overnight at hotel (B) Day 09: Friday July 8th 2016 Excursion to Karlovac Today we will travel to Karlovac and have some free time in the city. We will then travel north toward Ozalj, where we will visit and taste local wines & honey from local producers. For dinner, we will enjoy a traditional picnic with live music in Polane. (B,D) Day 10: Saturday July 9th 2016 - Transfer to our ship in Zadar via Plitvice Lakes Early departure from the hotel to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park. Enjoy the comprehensive tour and breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thick wooded mountains and lush vegetation. Continue on to Zadar where we arrive in the evening to board the M/S Aloha, our private chartered vessel, for a 7 night Adriatic Cruise. Get settled in your cabin prior to the
welcome reception, then enjoy dinner on your own in Zadar. (B) Day 11: Sunday -July 10, 2016 - Zadar Molat/ Olib, Early departure for Molat or Olib Island. Both islands are situated in the northern part of Zadar s archipelago where you can enjoy peace and serenity. While sailing, there will be plenty of time to stop to and swim in the crystal clear Sea of the Adriatic. Lunch served on board. (B, L) Day 12: Monday - July 11, 2016 - Molat/ Olib Ilovik Losinj After breakfast, relax as you sail past Silba Island to Ilovik, the island of flowers. Short visit and swim stop in one of the many secluded bays, before departing for Losinj Island. This is one of the most popular islands on the northern Adriatic, due to the abundance of pine trees and clear waters. Arrival at Mali Losinj, also for the Austro-Hungarian nobility. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a short walking tour of the city, followed by some time at leisure, before we proceed to Krk Island, the largest of the Croatian islands. Krk has immense variety in its villages large and small, gentle green promenades bare rocky wilderness, tiny islands and hundreds of hidden bays and beaches. Evening at leisure to enjoy numerous restaurants and cafes. (B, L) Day 15 Thursday July 14, 2016 - Krk Rab After breakfast, cruise towards Rab, known as the Island of Love. Upon arrival, enjoy sightseeing the town, encircled by medieval walls, Romanesque church towers, palaces, stone streets and ancient facades. Don t miss the gallery on streets and squares, where many local artists exhibit their goods. (B, L) known as the sunshine island, and discover this lovely town along the harbor. Take a walk up to the Losinj Aromatic Garden for a visit. Evening at leisure. (B, L) Day 13: Tuesday July 12, 2016 - Losinj Lubenice - Cres As you sail along the coast of islands Losinj & Cres, stop at Lubenice beach for a swim. Cres and Mali Losinj used to be one island, but the channel dug by the Romans now separates them. Arrive to Cres Island, covered with oak, beech and pine forests, as well as vineyards and olive tree plantations. Spend the night in the harbor of the medieval town of Cres. (B, L) Day 14 Wednesday July 13, 2106 - Cres Island Opatija - Krk Early departure for Opatija, a gem on Croatia s Adriatic coast, a beautiful seaside town, once a gathering spot Day 16 Friday July 15, 2016 - Rab - Zadar As you sail back along the shores of Pag Island, we will stop in the tiny Island of Maun for a swim. Then sail on to Zadar and enjoy a guided tour of this city, the metropolis of Dalmatia for centuries and today the center of the region. Zadar is rich in monumetal heritage of world importance visible on every step. Visit the Roman Forum, St. Donat church, and don t miss the famous Zadar Sea Organs, and The Greeting to the Sun light installation. Tonight will be our farewell dinner with wine & music aboard your ship. M/S Aloha The wonderful M/S Aloha, four star vessel was built in 2014 with latest state-of-the-art equipment and amenities. The restaurant includes bar area with LCD TV, there is also a corner table for buffet breakfast while each table has an easy-access chairs. There is also free wireless internet access (Wi-Fi). A portion of the dining area extends outdoors, offering sweeping panoramic views of the surroundings. The upper deck is spacious enough to accommodate all passengers, tables, chairs with available public lavatory. However the tour operator has requested that there be a limit of 1 large suitcase at 50 pounds per person due to space restrictions aboard the motorcoach. Tour Price Excludes: Airport Departure Taxes, customs user fees, passports, all visa fees, optional tours, telephone, telex, fax and telegram charges, excess baggage charges, sundry tips, laundry, beverages and food not on the regular table d hôte menu (these items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel, or restaurant), portage at U.S./Canada airports and all other items of a personal nature. Service charges at hotels and restaurants are prepaid. Travel Insurance and airfare is not included. 5. Refund and Unused or Amended Tour Arrangements: Unused hotel accommodations, tour features or services are non-refundable, nor exchangeable for other accommodations, services or features. Should there be any reason to change features of the tour for the group, any additional expenses will be charged to the tour members. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, hotels substituted will be the equivalent of those shown. Single room available at a supplemental charge. 6. Cancellation Penalties: If you cancel your reservation, your right to receive a refund is limited as set forth in the following schedules. All requests for refunds must be sent to us in writing. Charges for cancellation of the tour will be assessed by the participating airlines, tour operators, and hotels as follows: After deposit... Deposit non refundable March 30- April 30, 2016...... U.S. 50% per person, April 30-May 30, 2016...... 75% Penalty and No Refund. May 30-Departure...... 100% Penalty and No Refund. Once airfare is purchased, airfare is non refundable. Cancellation charges also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour. 7. Insurance. While every effort is made to ensure that baggage is properly handled and that the cancellation charges to you are kept to a minimum, Kollander World Travel cannot be held responsible for damages, loss or theft of luggage or personal belongings. You may secure a policy for baggage insurance, as well as insurance against sickness or accident, or trip cancellation and interruption insurance through Kollander World Travel.
