Knowing your neighbors helps with camp site security while you are away from your site. Thank you very much to Rich and Pam Frederick for being the reporters for the month. The campout was held January 11-13 at Jenny Ridge RV Park with early bird on the 12th. The campout was attended by 7 rigs; Rich Gavin, Bob and Sarah Edmondson, Roger and Diane Frederick, Larry and Mary Schmuhl, Rich and Pam Frederick, Jack and Pat Dean, and Duke and Barbara Denson. Thursday was a balmy 56 degrees but sunny day for our early bird arrival in Folkston, GA. The campground is approximately a year old and has 55 sites, bathhouse, laundry area and clubhouse and is located 40 miles north of Jacksonville. Rich Gavin was all setup with our flags proudly displayed as the club members arrived. Early bird arrivals were Roger and Diane, Bob and Sara, Rich and Pam, Jack and Pat, Larry and Mary and Duke and Barbara. Ken and Sherrie had issues with their air lines and had to cancel on Friday after Ken installed the recommended part and it didn t resolve the issue fully until further investigations and fixes on Saturday morning. Some members were unable to attend due to illness and other commitments. Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers. On Thursday night, a rousing game of Sevens was played at 7 pm in the clubhouse and everyone was having so much fun the campground owner had to end the game at 10 pm. Diane was the winner by one point over Larry when the game was stopped. Overnight it dipped below 31 degrees and we woke up on Friday to sunshine and a chilly start to the day. Later in the afternoon, everyone visited outside for a little bit and then three games of Sequence took place with the girls against the guys. The girls out strategized the guys and won all three games! After everyone had an opportunity to have dinner on their own, we met in the clubhouse at 7 pm for a spirited game of I Need It. First game was won by Duke, second game by Mary, third game by Diane, fourth game by Barbara and the last game of the night was won by Jack. Saturday it started out warmer than Friday morning but overcast and folks were visiting each other in their rigs. Pat and Jack collected the food donations and plastic bags that folks had brought in for the campout. Later at 2 pm Mary, Jack, Pat, Duke, Barbara, Rich G. and Diane played Sevens but they didn t really keep score so there were no winners/losers just a good time had by all. While there was no formal meeting, prior to the pot luck dinner, Pat asked for suggestions for February and March dinners. Suggestion was for a dump soup on Friday night in February and bring your own sandwich if you would like one. For those who do not know, dump soup is where everyone brings a few cans of vegetables (no greens, spinach, etc. as it wilts) and they are all added to a pot of broth and simmers for a while before serving. If you have any particular food allergy, please notify Rich G and Pat so that they can avoid adding that

Page 2 particular vegetable. February s Saturday night will be general pot luck and Irish foods for the March campout. Additional meal plans for the rest of the year will be brought up in March. Pat read a thank you from Jenny Ridge RV Park to all of Sunset Ramblers for staying at the park. Pat also shared letters from Northside Christian Center for the food donations and from Boggy Creek for our donation of 40 bears and a financial donation. If you would like to see the letters, please contact Pat. We had our 50/50 drawing, Pat pulled the winning number out of the basket and Jack won $20 with $20 going to charity donations. Our potluck dinner, no special theme this month, took place at 5:30 pm and as usual, there were no shortages of good cooks providing lots of delicious dishes to enjoy after Pat provided the blessing. After dinner several folks returned at 7 pm for Dime Bingo. Rich and Pam were the bingo callers and there were several winners, some were really on a hot streak winning more than one time! Winners were: Mary, Pat, Diane, Larry, Barbara and Jack. On Sunday, our campout weekend came to a close. The park owner came around as we were all getting ready to leave and went to every member and thanked them personally for coming and hoped that we had a good time and asked if there were any problems they should know about. Weather was overcast and the weather forecast was predicting rain and thunderstorms so everyone was anxious to return home before the storms came. Everyone said their goodbyes and headed on home. Chapter Meeting Information We did not hold a meeting but did decide food plans for February and March and Pat read thank you notes we have received. Please be sure to make your reservations for each campout as soon as possible-it helps the campground know how many of us are planning on coming and keeps us from losing our reservation as a chapter. Thank you for the great support of the monthly food bank collection. This month Jack and Pat took the donations and all the plastic bags to their church's food bank. Please continue to pray for each other-that s what helps bind us together as a chapter family.
