He commended the host, Sarawak Convention Bureau for organising the workshop successfully. He also mentioned about the other partners of the workshop such as Borneo Convention Center Kuching which provided a world class meeting facilities, MyCEB, Kuching Hilton and Riverside Majestic Hotel as event partners. Using his PowerPoint presentation, he walked-through some of highlights of the event such as the welcome dinner at BCCK, opening of the CSBW by the Minister of Tourism Sarawak, the business workshop itself, gala dinner at Sarawak Museum and post tours which allows good networking with clients and fellow ICCA members. He also thanked Gary Grimmer for conducting the Asia Pacific Educational Seminar which was held a day after the workshop and was well attended by local industry players. He confirmed that the quality of clients were exceptionally good as they were pre-approved by ICCA. He also encouraged members to participate in the coming workshop. The Workshop 2013 will be held at The Venetian Macao, from 5 7 September and registration will be opened by next February. Thus, he encouraged members to start looking for suitable clients. ICCA China Committee Meeting: Patrick Chen (Vice Chair/Treasurer) briefed the meeting about the recent ICCA China Committee meeting which was held in Beijing last September. The meeting chaired by Mr. Sun Weijia of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development saw more than 30 members taking part. The meeting was held to report on activities carried out through the year and also to brief members on Shanghai s preparation for hosting ICCA Congress in 2013. During the same week (at CIBTM), they also saw the signing ceremony of China MICE Cities Alliance and the launch of Beijing Congress Ambassador programme. He also welcomed all members to participate in the 52 nd ICCA Congress which will be held in Shanghai from 2 6 November 2013. 4. Other matters Leigh Harry (Tourism Victoria) had proposed to the meeting that the term of the current Chapter Exco should be extended after the Congress in Shanghai (rather than May where it is supposed to be the Chapter election). This will allow continuity and success for Shanghai as bigger representation from the Asia Pacific members are expected to take part. He also indicated that this matter has been discussed at the ICCA BOD meeting which also felt in particular for Patrick Chen s involvement in the Congress 2013 vis-à-vis Chapter Exco should be appreciated with such extension. The proposal was unanimously agreed by all members. 5. Closing As there were no other matters arising, the Chair took the opportunity to thank all members and observers present at the meeting. The next meeting will be held on 20 May 2013 at Messe Frankfurt in-conjunction with IMEX 2013. The meeting is adjourned with note of thanks.
