NEWS FROM AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD by Linda Klein Introducing you to our new neighbors! Welcome to my new next-door neighbor, MARINA DAVIS, in B103. Marina was born in El Salvador and moved to the U.S.A. after high school, in 1973. She learned English in school but studied it further once here in order to be able to speak English more fluently. Marina received a Business Degree from a Vocational School in the U.S.A. Marina s husband died very young, leaving her with three small children to raise on her own. She was a school volunteer and worked as a clerk in retail. After years of scanning items at check-out, she developed wrist problems and made a decision to change careers. Three years ago, Marina became a licensed Security Guard working in Los Angeles. She does not carry a weapon in her job. Her responsibility is to look and report. Marina is not currently working but is looking for a part-time security job in the Upland area. This past January, Marina received a state certificate allowing her to work in day care. Marina has three sons two live in Los Angeles and one in San Jose. She loves people and animals, likes to be outside as much as possible, and is an avid reader. Welcome MARINA! You may add her phone number to your CDE directory (209) 496-1039.

New Barbeques! Just in time for barbeque season we have beautiful new barbeques for your grilling enjoyment. We only ask that you take care of them as you would own. To keep them in good shape, it is important to clean them when you are done. Not sure how to clean them? For best results, wait until after you ve grilled. When the grates and racks are cooler but still warm, wipe the grate and racks with a damp rag to remove loosened bits. We have a grill cleaner in the office if you would like to use it. Just come by the office when we are open and we will be glad to let you borrow it. Happy Grilling!!
