Cruise-in @ Fairlane August 31 Inside this issue: It's August already!!! I can't believe it. We have only one cruise-in scheduled this month so be sure to watch your emails for any "pop-up cruises" that may come up. We had a good turnout at the club picnic July 15. If you did not make it, you were missed and you missed a good time. Hope to see you at Hardee's for our next cruise-in on August 11th, 5:30 8:30. Don President's Message 1 Picnic Review 1 Birthdays 2 Treasury Note 2 Cruise Schedule 3 Mystery Cruise 3 Cruise-in Reviews 4 D's Trivia 5 Website News 5 Calendar 6 Summer Picnic IT WAS A GREAT TIME! Thanks to each and every one of you who attended the July membership meeting/picnic. We had a great attendance. The food was delicious as was all your company. If you have any suggestions for next year's picnic--tell a board member. Maybe we can hope for no flying bugs, low humidity and 70 degree temperatures. I really appreciated all the help setting up & getting organized as well as all the clean up help. THANK YOU!!! If you did not attend the picnic this year; you should next year. Who is this birthday boy in his Mustang a number of years ago???? Andy Wilbur!!! Treasury Note By now, most of you know that all of the T-shirt and trophy sponsorships have been sold. For those of us involved, it s a good feeling to know that we can concentrate on enjoying cruise-ins and club activities and not have to worry about funding for this year s car show. We re able to fund the show because Board members and others obtain sponsorships from various businesses. The cost is $100 for a company s logo to go on the shirt and $100 for one of the 23 class awards. The Best of awards are $125 each. While we solicit sponsorships from businesses, a number of members have stepped up and sponsored a logo or trophy class themselves. I d like you to know who they are: Barb Braner, Meredith Branham, Howard Emerson, Marty Fructl, Jim & Frances Gatlin, Alan Grimmitt, Don & Gayle Highley, Pamela Meyer, Derek & Melissa Roberts, Andy & Christine Samoore, Tom & Pat Smith, Nick & Shaun Stoutameyer, and John & Kerry Weinhoeft. I m most thankful to these club members for helping to make our car show successful. D. Walker, Treasurer Www.route66cruisers.com

Mystery Cruise Our July mystery cruise took us to Gusto's in Dawson. The food was plentiful and good. Service was fantastic and very reasonable prices We had 11 members turnout. Our July winner of a free dinner was Mickey. Come join us on August 16 for the next mystery cruise and see where our hostesses take us this time. As usual, we will meet at the Kmart on Clearlake (close to Walgreens) at 6p.m. Once there, our hostesses will let us in on the mystery of where we will be going. We will leave promptly at 6:15. You can arrive in your daily driver if you wish. PLEASE feel free to ask where we are going. We don't want anyone to get left behind or lost

Page 4 Hardee's Cruise-ins The July 9 Hardees Cruise-in was a success. Especially considering the storms that passed through earlier in the day, the weather cooperated in the evening. Our Poker Walk was won by Jayne Kunz and the worst hand was Bert Roth. Don't forget to get your card at the next cruisein. It is free to play. Prizes are awarded for best and worst hand. Our next cruisein at Hardee's is August 11 from 5:30 Fairlane Diner Cruise-in The cruise-in at Fairlane on July 8 had a great turn-out. Cars were parked in the middle lanes!!! Mother Nature was kind and sunshine was plentiful and temperatures were great. And those that ate at the diner had a good meal as always.
