PASSIVE ATTACK 1 EXT. STREET - NIGHT There is solitude of night on one of the main streets of the city. The arrangements of the buildings around and the abundance of the stores show that it is a central location. A few prostitutes are waiting for customers on the side of the street. They hitchhike passing cars. One of them stops. He chats with one of the prostitutes. Other prostitutes go on to hitchhike to find customers for themselves. Ilhan walks on the side walk of the main street. when he gets close to Arzu, one of the prostitutes, she makes a pass at him. Hi handsome, wanna have some fun? Ilhan s appetite is wetted. He approaches Arzu. Won t I? Arzu approaches Ilhan too. They come side by side. Can t walk too much though, will take a cab wherever we ll go. Ilhan checks his money. There is not much money in his wallet. Arzu, seeing the money check, uses her sex appeal not to lose her customer. How much do you desire me? Ilhan, thoughtfully, looks right and left. His erection makes him feel uncomfortable. He adjusts his pans. He points the secluded dark spot at the entrance of a near-by building. We don t need to go anywhere. Let s get it done over there. You animal! Ilhan hands all the money in his wallet to Arzu. There are ten and twenty bills in it. This is all I ve got. Ilhan takes out the coins in his wallet as well.

2. Arzu laughs. She counts the money. She takes a look at the dark spot at the building. She thinks a little. She looks back at Ilhan. Alright, come on then. But don t take too long. I got to work more. OK. 2 EXT. SAME STREET- IN FRONT OF THE SAME APARTMENT - NIGHT Arzu and Ilhan go to the spot in silence. When they arrive, Ilhan starts to unzip his pants. Arzu searches something in her purse. Ilhan tries to touch Arzu. Arzu, showing her purse, pushes him for a moment. Ilhan, laughing. I m out of condoms. Never mind! What if I ve got AIDS. Never mind! Look! Are you sure? Ilhan keeps on touching Arzu. It s a risk worth taking! In the dark spot, Arzu turns her back and bends down. She strips off her skirt. Ilhan starts to penetrate. They have sex, mechanically, without any feelings. Cars keep on passing from the street.

3. 3 EXT. SAME STREET - NIGHT Prostitutes are still waiting for work. Arzu comes back. One of the prostitutes asks Arzu PROSTITUTE 1 You got rid of him, gal? Arzu is a little lost in thought. It s a shame for the kid. PROSTITUTE 1 Why is that, gal? I didn t have any condoms. The prostitute is horrified. Arzu, full of doubt PROSTITUTE 1 What! What about the AIDS? I swear I warned him. FADE OUT 4 INT. STORE - DAY Sanem is working as a sales assistant in a clothing store. It is crowded inside. Sanem is dealing with two young male costumers. One of them is trying on the T-shirt he bought. CUSTOMER I think it s a little tight. Sanem, with a warm and flirtatious voice No, I think it s the perfect fit. It shows up your shoulders. The two customers look at each other. The one who tries on the T-shirt is self-confident. He watches himself in the mirror. CUT TO We see the two men at the cashier s desk, paying for the T-shirt.

4. 5 EXT. IN FRONT OF THE STORE - NIGHT Sanem gets out of the store. She waves goodbye her to colleagues. Good evening everybody. BOSS You too, sweetheart. Sanem closes the door and leaves. She waits at the side of the road. Someone approaches from behind and calls her. He is her fiance, Sercan. Hey, baby doll, any chance we could meet? Sanem, at first, gets scared but she relieves when she sees Sercan. Jokingly Of course not. I don t even talk to anybody, in the first place. Sercan participates in the game too. So, what is it I should do? I have to think about it. Think then. They walk away arm in arm. 6 EXT. PARK - NIGHT Ilhan is smoking weed and drinking vodka in a park with his friends Adnan and Selcuk. They all seem like bums. Adnan, wanting to fill another glass of vodka, realizes that the bottle is empty. Lost his balance, he talks wobbly. Dude, this is empty. SELCUK This weed didn t do any good yet. I m gonna go and bag some vodka.

5. They laugh. He ll get you dude. He already made a scene last time. Then, let s go and soap down someone. You can t even take an egg from a chicken with that coconut on your shoulders. Ilhan stands up. He starts to walk without any response. Adnan yells from behind. Dude, don t get busted! Turning back to Selcuk, with a hoarse voice Stupid idiot! 7 EXT. STREET - NIGHT Sanem and Sercan are still together but Sanem wants to go home. Sanem, waggishly They both laugh. I really have to go back home, you know that! You are working in the day time and going back home too early at night. When will I see you? Propose me and let me think about it. If I accept it, then you can see me anytime you like. It will be very soon, be patient my love. Sanem, good at repartee

6. It has nothing to do with me for now. You are the one who wants to see me more. Then, you be patient! They laugh. Sercan is kind of speechless. I m being late. Give me a bye kiss. Sercan kisses Sanem from her lips. 8 EXT. OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET - NIGHT Ilhan, showing the state of his tipsiness, walks from the park to the corner of the street. He sees the cat by the trash can. He picks up a stick. He bangs the trash can. Cat runs away with fear. Ilhan grins viciously. Ilhan comes to the corner of the street and starts to wait. He stops Sanem who walks on her own. Hey, where are you going? Sanem tries to walk away quickly without giving any answer. Ilhan follows her and holds her arm. Why don t you give me an answer? Let go off my arm. Sanem pulls back her arm and gets it free for a moment. As she tries to go her own way, Ilhan holds her arm again and pulls her closer. Where to? Let go off my arm, what do you want from me? Ilhan talks with an irritating attitude. We were boozing up over there. But we ran out of vodka. I was gonna ask if you had any. Sanem tries to dismiss him by walking away.

7. I don t have any! He pulls her from her arm again after her moves a little. Hold it a second! You can t leave that soon! 9 INT. S HOUSE - NIGHT The mother prepares the dinner in Sanem s place. Her father and elder-brother watch TV. TV has a bad frequency. On TV, there is an action scene which guns are fired. Her father tries to rearrange the antenna. Its one side is sharp. Its sharpness is seen clearly. Sanem s father checks the time. 10 EXT. PARK - NIGHT Ilhan brings Sanem to the park with his one hand covering her mouth. Sanem struggles but Ilhan is much bulkier than Sanem. She can t escape. Adnan and Selcuk are shocked when they see Sanem. What the heck is this? SELÇUK Dude, I thought you were gonna get some alcohol. Stop talking and give me that swab! Selcuk gives the swap. Ilhan ties Sanem s mouth. Adnan, with an attitude between anger and shock Ilhan, laughing. Dude!... What the fuck are you doing? You said I can t take an egg from a chicken. So I took them both.

8. SELÇUK Let her go since we haven t done anything yet. She ll get us caught. Look at that piece, will you! It would be a waste to lose such a body before fucking. Now go and buy something to drink with her money. C mon dude. 11 BUS STOP Sercan waits for the bus at the bus stop. There are 4-5 people there. The bus arrives. Sercan gets on the bus and goes. 12 EXT. PARK - NIGHT Selcuk comes back with alcohol bottles in his hands. When he is back, he sees that Ilhan is about to rape Sanem. Adnan is watching them. Adnan, seeing Selcuk coming Come here before the fun is over. SELÇUK Dude, is this done here for all to hear? Would you prefer a hotel room asshole? Ilhan joins the conversation while going on raping Sanem. What did you get for me? SELÇUK Vodka was too warm, so I bought wine and some nuts. Selcuk opens the wine bottle and hands it to Ilhan. While he is tossing down the bottle, he goes on coming and going in Sanem. Ilhan comes. Adnan, with a grin on his face, moves to replace Ilhan.

9. Let s see how it tastes like. Sanem stares with fearful eyes and tied mouth. 13 INT. POLICE STATION - NIGHT A piece of paper comes out from the scanner. Officer takes the paper and hands it to Sanem. POLICE OFFICER 1 Sign here please. Sanem is covered with some sort of a blanket. The shock of the incident can be seen on her face. She signs the paper without reading it. Officer leaves the room and goes into another one. 14 INT. POLICE CHIEF S ROOM - NIGHT Police officer 1 takes the report in his hand to a different room inside and hands it to the police chief. POLICE CHIEF SEVKET What happened to the girl? POLICE OFFICER 1 (with a sad tone) 3 men fucked the poor girl. All three were ex-convicts. police chief hesitates while investigating the report. POLICE CHIEF SEVKET Tonight the first thing you do is to find those fagots. Tell everybody. 15 INT. SELCUK S HOUSE - NIGHT Selcuk, Adnan and Ilhan, passed out, are lying down in the living room. The door is knocked. POLICE TEAM Open the door, police! None of three, besotted, hears the door. The police insist.

10. POLICE TEAM Open the door police! Chef of the team nods for approval. They break the door. When they break in they see all three, lying on the ground, passed out. They wake them up beating. (bewilderedly) What is the matter with you dude, we did nothing. One of the police officers kicks him in the belly. POLICE OFFICER Shut up! You still have the face to talk! They drag the three outside. 16 INT. S HOUSE - NIGHT Sanem opens the door to her house. It is dark inside. She closes the door. Her father turns on the lights while she is taking off her shoes, worn out. S FATHER Where the hell have you been? You want to bring disgrace on us? Her mother comes from inside. She approaches Sanem while her father remains remote. S MOTHER Where have you been dear? Look what happened to you? Sanem puts her arms around her mother and cries hysterically. She sobs. FADE OUT 17 INT. S HOUSE - DAY Sanem s mother prepares breakfast. Her father and elder-brother are sitting at the table. Sanem comes to the table. She sits as if nothing is wrong. An extremely cold atmosphere arises at the table.

11. Her elder-brother Emre leaves the table immediately. His mother tries to sit him down again. MOTHER Emre, why don t you eat, son? Emre responses in a freezing voice. EMRE Not hungry. Emre leaves the table. Her father stares outside sorrowfully. He tries to ignore Sanem. The mother takes a blink to the father. She can t predict his reaction. Sanem, her head bent down, sits in silence. 18 EXT. IN FRONT OF THE STORE - DAY (NEXT DAY) The store is just opened. "Next day" writes on the screen. One of the personnels cleans the outdoor. Another one rubs the windows. Sanem comes to the store and greets. Good morning. PERSONNEL 1 Good morning. Sanem, while going inside PERSONNEL 1 By the way, I m really sorry. Sanem gives a confused look. She is puzzled that the news spread so fast. She nods thank-you and goes inside. PERSONNEL 2 What s up? PERSONNEL 1 Last night, 3 men... We can t hear the rest of the conversation. It is a very bright day. Life goes on normally on the street.

12. 19 INT. S HOUSE - DAY Sercan and his family are at the breakfast table. There is a moment of silence and a heavy atmosphere at the table. His dad sighs. What are you thinking Dad? S FATHER This engagement is over Sercan. But dad, what is her fault in this? It s not like she wanted it to happen. She was raped. S MOTHER It is the most important thing in life, to choose a spouse, my son. Listen to your father. She was raped, the sin belongs to rapists. Sercan is expecting some understanding. Father s attitude is definite. S FATHER Look it son, pouring a teaspoon full of sewer water, into a bin full of clean water, gets you a bin full of sewer water. She s not the same girl you left yesterday anymore. She has changed...she s dirty now. 20 INT. STORE - DAY Store s telephone rings. The cashier answers it. We cannot hear her talk, she looks around. She stands up and calls Sanem with hand signs. Sanem gets the phone. Her face changes.
