The Dallas Stars will have two home games this week on Saturday October 20th and Tuesday October 21st. Please be advised that there could be an increase in general aviation air traffic due to these games. Optimized Airspace and Procedures in the Metroplex (OAPM) On September 18, 2014, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented a large number of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) procedures in the DFW Metroplex. The PBN procedures are designed to enable aircraft operating at DAL to follow precise routes during the arrival and departures phases of flight. This implementation of PBN procedures is a part of the Optimized Airspace and Procedures in the Metroplex (OAPM) initiative which is a major part of the FAA s Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) program. DALLAS LOVE FIELD COMMUNITY WEEKLY UPDATE October 18-October 24, 2014 2 Construction Updates Taxiway D between Taxiway C and Taxiway D1 was closed May 2013 as work continues for the next phase of the Love Field Modernization Project (LFMP). This phase of the project is expected to be completed in 2014 and it includes the demolition of Gates 4 through 15 of the west concourse and the baggage claim wing. Construction on Taxiway C continues and requires a lengthy portion to be closed along runway 13R/31L (Denton). This closure primarily affects arrivals in the south flow air traffic direction as it hinders arrivals on 13R/31L. Construction will continue through the first week of March 2015.Please see the airport diagram on page 3 for more information. Scheduled Taxiway Closures for Routine Maintenance TWY B closed between TWY B3 and TWY R. Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00pm until Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 6:00am TWY B closed between TWY B5 and TWL P Thursday October 17, 2014 at 11:00pm until Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 6:00am. TWY B5 closed between TWY B and TWY D Thursday October 17, 2014 at 11:00pm until Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 6:00am. Ongoing Airfield Closures The following taxiways will remain closed until further notice: Taxiway D closed lighted and barricaded between TWY D1 and RWY 13R/31L until December 31, 2014. Taxiway C closed lighted and barricaded between TWY C3 and RWY 18/36 until March 15, 2015. Taxiway C between C2 and D closed to aircraft with wingspan greater than 118ft; prior permission is required from Airport Operations.
