Market Street Washington C.H., Ohio 43160 (740) 335.6170 SEPTEMBER NEWS Last updated 10/03/2014 09-30-14 MENACING: Donald Huff of Washington CH reported while in a verbal argument with a known male subject he was threatened. The incident was referred to the law director. CIVIL: Connie Schirtzinger reported known person(s) recently moved out of her residence and owe money for unpaid rent. TRAFFIC CRASH/ HITSKIP: Sheriff s deputies responded to Miami Trace Rd on reports of a motor vehicle crash. Upon investigating unknown person was traveling west on Miami Trace Rd in a semi tractor trailer, traveling off the right side of the roadway striking a guardrail causing damage and departed the scene. TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: Brian Michael of Jeffersonville reported he is receiving harassing messages of Facebook from a known male subject. TELEPHONE HARRASSMENT: A report was made by a female juvenile who had received obscene photos on Facebook from an unknown subject. The unknown subject was blocked from the juvenile s Facebook page. CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Jason Bryan of New Holland reported after arriving at a vacant family residence he located two male subject(s) at the rear of the residence. Contact was made with male subject(s) advising them not the return to the property. TRAFFIC CRASH: Deputy Bruce Stolsenberg, while on patrol in a marked Sheriff s patrol vehicle was turning left onto SR 41 from Curtis St, when he turned too sharply striking a utility pole on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Stolsenberg was cited for Failure to Control. 09-29-14 FIRE: Sheriff s deputies responded to State St in Jeffersonville on reports of a fire. Jefferson township fire responded to the scene to extinguish the flames. TRAFFIC CRASH: Toni Kiser, of Greenfield reports that she was north bound on US 62 S near Rowe Ging Rd., when she traveled off the right side of the roadway. She then overcorrected and ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the ditch, where it was damaged, and had to be towed from the scene. Ms. Kiser was cited for failure to control.

POSSESSION OF DRUGS / POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: Deputies initiated a traffic stop of Stephanie Leasure, on SR 41 near SR 734. Upon contact with the driver her demeanor led the Deputy to request a Canine Unit to sniff the vehicle. Upon the Canine Units arrival the dog gave a positive indication of the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle produced a quantity of what is believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Leasure was arrested and transported to the Fayette Co. Jail. THEFT: Deputies responded to a disturbance at the Tanger Mall. Upon making contact with the source of the disturbance, Toni Kiser, of Greenfield, the Deputy located several items of merchandise in her purse without any sales receipts. These items were from Justice, Adidas and Aeropostale at the Tanger Outlet Mall. Contact was made with the management of all the stores who confirmed that Ms. Kiser had not purchased these items. Ms. Kiser was arrested and transported to the Fayette Co. Jail. The items in question were documented and returned to the merchants. 09-28-14 TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: Theresa Brown reported a known person has been sending her text messages. Upon making contact with the suspect, she was found to have an active warrant and was arrested on the warrant. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Sheriff s deputies responded to the Jeffersonville skate park on reports of criminal damaging. Deputies located writing on the skate parks ramps at which time appeared to be from a red marker. TRAFFIC CRASH/HITSKIP: Sheriff s deputies responded to S.R 38 on reports of a motor vehicle crash. Upon investigating an unknown subject was traveling on S.R 38 and lost control of the vehicle. The driver traveled off the right side of the roadway into the ditch coming to rest in the yard of 12519 S.R 38 and then departed the scene of the crash. The vehicle was described as a black Ford Mustang. TRAFFIC CRASH: Anthony Todd, of Elyria, Oh reported he was pulling from a parking space at the Tanger Mall, when he failed to observe another vehicle, operated by Alex Adkins of South Solon, Oh. Mr. Todd pulled into the path of Mr. Adkins and was struck. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven away from the scene. UNRULY: Deputies responded to a report of a 14 year old female who had become unruly and insubordinate in the home. Unruly charges were forwarded to the Fayette County Juvenile Court. 09-27-14 DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Sheriff s deputies responded to Locust Grove Rd on a domestic incident. Upon arrival deputies identified all parties involved and determined no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Kimberly Hubbell of Washington CH, Oh reported an unknown white pickup truck entered the yard at her residence doing circular motions causing damage to the sod. BURGLARY/THEFT: Kyle Puffinbarger, of Jeffersonville reported overnight persons(s) unknown forced entry into his residence and removed property. TRAFFIC CRASH: Mark Losey of Frankfort stated he was east bound on Old US 35 near Boyd Rd. when a deer entered the roadway and struck his vehicle. Minor damage was sustained to the vehicle. The deer was located at the scene. 09-26-14 MENACING: Sheriff s deputies responded to the Miami Trace bus garage on a menacing complaint. It was reported that two parents caused a scene at the parent teacher conference over an incident that occurred on the bus involving their child. MENACING: Theresa Brown, Washington CH, reported that Eryka Null approached her outside of her residence where she verbally threatened to cause her harm and threw a pop bottle at her vehicle. Null was charged and subsequently arrested on the warrant on September 28th. UNRULY: Brenda Self, an employee of Miami Trace School District Transportation reported a 16 year old child on the bus became unruly throwing items about the vehicle and when the vehicle stopped the child departed the vehicle. Deputies located the child nearby and transported him to his residence and informed his guardian of the situation. CASUALTY: Amber Ellison of Jeffersonville reported an 11 year old child she was babysitting for fell off his bicycle at the skate board park in Jeffersonville and struck his head. The child was unconscious for several minutes. The child s parent was contacted and advised of the incident. The child was transported by EMS to the Fayette Co. Memorial Hospital for treatment. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to Jeffersonville on a reported domestic dispute between a female and her live-in boyfriend. Both parties were contacted and both denied any physical altercation or threats. The male half agreed to depart the residence for the evening. THEFT: John Barnett of Jeffersonville reported his cell phone was taken from his business by an unknown person(s). MAKING FALSE ALARM: Sheriff s deputies responded to the area of US 62 near the Madison county line with Tri county EMS who located a female who reported she had been assaulted along with another female. After investigating it was discovered that the female made a false report. Crystal Spence of Orient, Ohio was arrested in incident. 09-25-14 CRIMINAL TRESPASS/THEFT: Michael and Tonda Davis of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported person(s) unknown removed various items from her vehicles while parked at her residence.

BURGLARY/THEFT: Scott Smallwood of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported person(s) unknown forced entry into his residence and removed various items. TRAFFIC CRASH: Sheriff s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of SR 435 and IR 71 south. Reports indicate that Steve Mannon of Marion, Ohio was turning left from the IR 71 Southbound exit ramp onto SR 435 when Don Chaffins of Chillicothe, Ohio failed to stop for the red light on SR 435 and struck Mannon s vehicle. Mannon was transported by squad to Jamestown s Miami Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Chaffins was cited for Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device. TRAFFIC CRASH: Bethany Campbell of Washington CH, Ohio reported she was traveling south on Washington New Martinsburg road in Perrry Township, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by Campbell s vehicle. TRAFFIC CRASH: Thomas Kent of Greenfield, Oh was traveling east on US 35 and lost control of his vehicle. Kent traveled off the left side of the roadway overcorrected traveling off the right side of the roadway. Kent continued off the right side of the roadway into the ditch striking a sign post overturning. Kent was transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. Kent was cited for Failure to Control. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Sheriff s deputies responded to West High St, Jeffersonville on a domestic complaint. Upon arrival Sheriff s deputies identified all parties involved and determined no assault or threats of violence had occurred. 09-24-14 IDENTITY THEFT: Mary Moder of New Holland reported person(s) unknown used her credit card information to make unauthorized purchases. THEFT: James Emmerling of Hamilton, Oh reported while at the northbound rest area on I.R 71 unknown subject approached him asking for money. Emmerling advised once he obtained his wallet unknown person grabbed the wallet and departed. ASSIST AGENCY: New Vienna police department contacted the Sheriff s office requesting a deputy make contact with known male subject in regards to a harassment complaint. Sheriff s deputies made contact with known male subject advising him of the complaint and to cease all contact with victim. DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An employee of the Tanger Outlet Mall, Jeffersonville reported an unknown person left an offensive note on her motor vehicle. FIRE: Jefferson Twp. Fire Department was dispatched to the Toole residence on a report of an illegal burn. The fire was extinguished. Ms. Toole was counseled about the current burning regulations.

ASSAULT/CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Jeremy D. Peters of Solon Solon, Ohio reported a known person damaged his property and assaulted him. Peters declined prosecution at the time of the report. MENACING: Deputies responded to reports of a juvenile brandishing a knife. The caller declined prosecution in the matter. Contact was made with the parents of the juvenile involved. MENACING BY STALKING: A report was made by a female reporting a known male had been stalking her. No threats and nothing physical was reported to have occurred. 09-23-14 MISUSE OF A CREDIT CARD/THEFT: Martha D. Smith of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported within the past 24 hours persons unknown obtained her debit card information and made several purchases. UNRULY: Deputies assisted a Bloomingburg resident when a complaint was made on an unruly juvenile. The juvenile was counseled on his behavior. The mother declined prosecution. UNRULY: Deputies assisted a second Bloomingburg resident when a verbal dispute was reported between she and her daughter. The juvenile was counseled on her behavior. 09-22-14: HIT SKIP TRAFFIC CRASH: Deputies responded to a reported one vehicle crash on SR 41 South. Upon arriving at the scene, Deputies found that the driver had departed. Upon further investigation it was determined the vehicle was north bound on SR 41 when it traveled of the left side of the roadway into the ditch and struck a tree. Heavy damage was sustained to the vehicle, owned by Harmon Davis, of New Holland. TRAFFIC CRASH: Mason Cockerill of Sabina, Oh was traveling south on S.R 41. Cockerill attempted to turn right onto Washington New Martinsburg Rd and lost control of his vehicle. Cockerill traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert overturning his vehicle into the ditch. Cockerill was extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means and flown by Medflight to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. TRAFFIC CRASH: Erica M. Smith of Washington CH, Ohio was stopped on the Access Rd. at the U. S. Rte 22 West intersection when Smith was struck in the rear by Randy E. Lewis of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. The vehicles suffered minor damages. No injuries were reported. Lewis was cited for assure clear distance ahead. Smith was cited for failure to reinstate. ROBBERY: Rodger Morgan of Tioga, PA reported that while on the lot of Travel Center of America he was outside of his vehicle. Morgan reported two white males grabbed his arms while a third male grabbed his wallet and ran on foot. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate any suspects.

THEFT: An employee of Woodbury Outfitters reported that an unknown male took clothing into a fitting room and upon exiting it appeared that the male had concealed the clothing. Upon confronting the male he ran out the front door. B&E/THEFT/VANDALISM/SAFECRACKING: The manager of Wendy s in Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that person(s) unknown had forced entry into the business and cut open the safe. Cash was removed out of the safe. BURGLARY/THEFT: Robert Green of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that person(s) unknown had entered his residence and removed several items from inside. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Baldwin Rd for a domestic incident. Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that no threats of violence or assault had occurred. TRAFFIC CRASH: Debora Kathman of Villa Hills, Ky was backing from a parking on the lot of Tanger Outlets. Kathman failed to observe a vehicle operated by Meghan Fitzpatrick of Washington CH striking the right side of Fitzpatrick s vehicle. No injuries were reported. WANTED PERSON/ DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS: While serving a warrant in the 500 block of Second St deputies located Robert Berwanger who had an active warrant through Fayette County Common Pleas Court for failure to appear for a scheduled jury trial. After arrest, deputies located 2 hypodermic needles in his pocket. Berwanger was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond. 09-21-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Joshua Collins of Carrollton, Ohio was traveling westbound on U.S. 35 near U.S. Route 62 when Collins struck debris of a tire in the roadway. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage. TRAFFIC CRASH: Deanna Edwards of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling on the lot of the Flying J in Jeffersonville, Ohio and stopped in the lane of travel. Phyllis Fannin of Jeffersonville, Ohio failed to observe Edwards vehicle stopped as she began to back out of a parking space. Fannin struck the side of Edwards vehicle causing minor damage. No injuries were reported. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Cammy Brown of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that person(s) unknown had tampered with a cable box attached to her residence. TRAFFIC CRASH: Keith Jenkins of Columbus, Oh was traveling south in I.R 71 when the rear tire of Jenkins motorcycle blew. Jenkins traveled off the left side of the roadway into the median laying the motorcycle on its side. No injuries were reported. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Christopher West of Bloomingburg, Ohio reported that person(s) unknown placed hand prints with blue paint on his privacy fence. Upon further investigation it was determined that a 10 year old female caused the damage and charges were filed in the Fayette County Juvenile Court.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Breanne Johnson of Washington C.H., Ohio was parked on the lot at 2462 Yeoman Rd when another vehicle backed out of a parking space and struck Johnson s vehicle then departed. TRAFFIC CRASH: Daniel Renner of Loveland, Ohio was slowing for stopped traffic on Interstate 71 southbound followed by Torodd Carter of Columbus, Ohio. Carter failed to observe Renner s vehicle slowing down and struck the rear of Renner s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Carter was cited for Failure to Control CAR FIRE: Trevor Ylisaari of Conneut, Ohio reported that while traveling southbound on I-71 when flames began coming from the engine compartment. The Jefferson Township Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the flames. 09-20-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Matthew Wilson of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling westbound on U.S. 22 east in the 5000 block when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert. Wilson was cited for Failure to Control. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of U.S. 62 north on a domestic incident. Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that both parties involved had assaulted each other. Laura Curry and Jeremy Johnson were both charged with Domestic Violence and transported to the Fayette County Jail. ASSAULT: Michele Snider, of Washington CH reported while working at the Ranch of Opportunity on 9-19-14 she was assaulted by two of the female juvenile clients. Criminal charges were filed & forwarded to the Juvenile Court. GROSS SEXUAL IMPOSTION: Deputies initiated an investigation into the inappropriate conduct with a minor by a family member. DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Daniel Hodge, Manager of Bob Evans Restaurant, Allen Rd. reported an employee had been terminated. The employee then began throwing items in the store causing a disturbance. Mr. Hodge declined charges and requested that the employee depart and not return to the business. The employee was contacted and agreed not to return to the business. PROTECTION ORDER SERVICE: Service was completed on a Civil Protection Order, issued by the Fayette Co. Common Pleas Court. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Employees of the Ranch of Opportunity reported three female juvenile clients became agitated when denied a privilege and subsequently damaged property of the business. Charges were forwarded to the Juvenile Court. 09-19-14:

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Kelly Fisher of Jeffersonville reported person(s) unknown entered her vehicle causing damage to the glove box. Fisher advised nothing was missing from inside the vehicle. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatch to Woodsview Dr. in Jefferonville, ohio to a domestic incident. Upon the completion of their investigation it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Kelly Fisher, of Jeffersonville reported overnight person(s) unknown entered her vehicle while it was parked outside her residence and caused damage to the dash. TRAFFIC CRASH: The Fayette County Sheriff s Office is investigating a two vehicle injury traffic crash involving a Sheriff s Office vehicle and deputy that occurred early Friday morning on Interstate 71 North near Milepost 72 in Fayette County. The crash was reported at 1:04 a.m. According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, a 2005 Dodge Ram sheriff s vehicle operated by Deputy George E. Hellenthal was providing traffic control in a construction work zone along Interstate 71 North when a 2007 Ford F-Series pickup truck operated by Alexa Dunn of Maineville, Ohio failed to yield to the public safety vehicle and failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead, colliding with the rear of the Dodge Ram. Following impact, the Dodge Ram operated by Deputy Hellenthal veered off the left side of the roadway into the grass median where it came to rest. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash and were towed from the scene. Deputy Hellenthal and Ms. Dunn were both transported by Fayette County EMS to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. During the crash investigation, deputies discovered that Ms. Dunn was an unlicensed driver. Dunn was cited for Assured Clear Distance Ahead, Failure to Yield to a Public Safety Vehicle and No Operator s License. MENACING: Arlana Senuoke reported she was harassed by a known person however declined prosecution.

THEFT: An employee of Denny s Restaurant reported an internal theft of money at the business. 09-16-14 MISSING PERSON: A staff member of Miami Trace Schools reported a 10 year old student had not reported to school for several weeks. The incident remains under investigation. TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: A mother reported her 10 year old daughter had been receiving harassing text messages from a known juvenile. Both juveniles were counseled on the offense. 09-15-14 CRIMINAL DAMAGING; DISORDERLY CONDUCT BY INTOXICATION: Luann D. Doctor of Washington CH, Ohio reported a known person damaged the front door to her residence and made entry. Rex Jones of Washington CH, Ohio was located at the residence, and found to be intoxicated. Jones was arrested and charged in the offense. THEFT: An employee of the Nike Outlet reported two unknown persons removed merchandise from the business without payment. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Deputies responded to Vine Street in Jeffersonville on a domestic incident. After investigating the complaint, James Echard, Sr. was arrested and charged with domestic violence and transported to the Fayette County Jail. RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: A report of a suspicious vehicle on Market St in Bloomingburg, Ohio was received by the Sheriff s Office. Upon running the registration the vehicle was found to have been reported stolen earlier in the day from the City of Washington C.H. The vehicle was towed to Washington C.H. Police Department s impound lot. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: A Jeffersonville resident reported a verbal dispute between family members. No threats of violence were alleged. THEFT: An employee of Nike reported several unknown male subjects entered the business, obtained property and departed without making payment. 09-14-14 DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to a Jeffersonville address on a reported verbal dispute between two family members. THEFT: Rachel Back of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that while she was at her place of employment person(s) unknown had removed cash from her purse. MENACING: A report was made alleging the receipt of threatening and unwanted calls and text from a known female. Both parties were advised to cease contact with each other.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of Creek Rd on a domestic incident. Upon completion of the investigation it was determined that no assault had occurred. No threats of violence was reported. THEFT: An employee of Tommy Hilfiger reported unknown person(s) entered the store and concealed clothing then departed without paying. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A traveler reported a vehicle entered the grass area of the Northbound rest area on I-71 and struck a fence. The vehicle departed prior to sheriff s office arrival. CRIMINAL TRESPASSING: The manager of Buckeye Community reported two unknown males were on the property. Both males had departed prior to sheriff s office arrivals. 09-13-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Roger Liming Jr. of Shirley, Indiana was traveling westbound on Old U S Rte 35 West near Inskeep Rd. when Liming struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported. RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: Paul Winterbotham, of Washington CH located an electric motor at Cohen Recycling that that previously been stolen from his property. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Deputies resonded to a Madison Township residence on a report of domestic violence. The suspect departed prior to the deputy s arrival. The caller declined to give a written statement or cooperate with charges. PASSING BAD CHECKS: Jaret Bishop, of Washington CH received a check from a known female as a deposit on a house Mr. Bishop was offering for rent. Upon depositing the check, he was informed the check had been declined. Mr. Bishop declined charges at this time as he wanted to give the suspect time to make the check good. The suspect was contacted and advised to contact Mr. Bishop to clear up this matter. PUBLIC INDECENY: Deputies were dispatched to the area of SR41 and Inskeep Rd on a report of a male subject driving and exposing himself. The vehicle was located and the suspect was identified as Trevor McKnight. Mr. McKnight was charged and arrested in the offense. CRIMINAL SIMULATION / THEFT: Employees of Corning Ware and Corelle Outlet at the Tanger Outlet Mall reported an unknown person presented a counterfeit $10 bill as payment for a purchase. The bill was collected and will be turned over to the US Secret Service. 09-12-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Annamarie Derov-Johnson, of Cleveland, Oh was attempting to back her motorcycle from a parking space at the BP station on State St. in Jeffersonville when the vehicle surged forward. The vehicle jumped the curb and struck a pole and shrubbery.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Justin Thompson, of Mason, Oh reported he was north bound on IR-71 near the 70 mile marker in the center lane of travel when a semi-tractor trailer rig in the left lane began to change lanes and struck the left rear of his vehicle. The semi continued on without stopping. The semi was not located. Mr. Thompson s vehicle sustained moderate damage but was driven from the scene. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to a Marion Township address on reports of a verbal dispute between a mother and daughter. One party claimed a minor physical altercation had ensued. There were no observed injuries on either party and the witness denied any physical incident. All parties were counselled concerning adult behavior. THEFT: Employees of Children s Place, at the Tanger Outlet Mall Jeffersonville reported observing two subjects departing the store with merchandise later determined not to have been paid for. Upon reviewing the surveillance video the subjects were observed concealing items in other bags. The suspects departed the lot prior to the deputy s arrival. POSSESSION OF DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENT / POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: Upon checking a suspicious vehicle deputies identified Tyler Pack, of Washington CH as the occupant. Upon questioning Pack, he admitted to drug use, and a search of the vehicle produced a hypodermic syringe and other articles consistent with drug use. Mr. Pack was arrested and transported to the Fayette Co. Jail. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Bucky Troute, of Washington CH reported person(s) unknown glued shut the lock on his horse trailer while it was parked at the Fairgrounds Stables. 09-10-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Katie Pryor of Greenfield, Oh was traveling north on S.R 753. Pryor approached the intersection of Robinson Rd striking the rear of a vehicle operated by Edward Cress stopped at the traffic signal. No injuries were reported. Pryor was cited for Assured Clear Distance Ahead. BREAKING & ENTERING/ THEFT: An employee with Time Warner reports person(s) unknown entered onto the property causing damage to a vehicle and removed items from inside the vehicle. Incident is under investigation. 09-09-14 CRIMINAL DAMAGING / CRIMINAL TRESSPASS: Nancy Cooper-Ross reported sometime in the last three weeks person(s) unknown had entered her property in Jeffersonville and caused damage. UNRULY: Deputies responded to a report of an unruly juvenile who refused to stay at the residence. The deputy made contact with and counseled the juvenile. BREAKING & ENTERING/ THEFT: A resident observed a vehicle departing a farm lane loaded with scrap metal and made contact with the Sheriff s Office. Investigation revealed the

property had been stolen. Brad Cline, age 35 of Washington CH, and Matthew Reynolds, age 29 of Washington CH was arrested in incident. 09-08-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Joseph Acquah of Columbus, Oh was driving on the lot of KFC. Acquah approached the drive thru window at the business striking the overhead awning. The vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash. No injuries were reported. THEFT: An employee of Childrens Place, Tanger Outlet Mall, Jeffersonville reported person(s) unknown entered the business obtained items and departed without making payment. TRAFFIC CRASH: Frank Fowler of Waterford, Ohio was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 62 near State Route 238 when a vehicle operated by Kuljit Singh was stopped at a stop sign on State Route 238. Singh entered the intersection and struck Fowler s vehicle. Minor injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained damage. Singh was cited for Failure to Yield and Seatbelt Violation. TRAFFIC CRASH: Jamie Rummel of Fayetteville, Ohio was exiting off of I-71 N.B. near mile marker 67. Lance Cranmer of Chillicothe was also exiting on the off ramp. Cranmer vehicle struck the rear of Rummel vehicle. Cranmer s vehicle sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported. Cranmer was cited for Failure to Control. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 12000 block of Cook Yankeetown Rd. Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that no assault or threats of violence occurred. UNRULY JUVENILE: A 14 year old female from Bloomingburg, Ohio was reported as a runaway from her residence. The juvenile was later found hiding in another residence. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the juvenile detention center in Chillicothe, Ohio. PROTECTION ORDER SERVICE: Deputies served a protection order to an inmate who was incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail. THEFT/CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Erika Wilson of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that a known male who had been living with her stole items out of her residence and caused damage to her residence. CIVIL STAND-BY/VERBAL DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to W. High St in Jeffersonville, Ohio for a property exchange. The parties involved were in dispute over food items at the residence. 09-07-14 FAILURE TO CONFINE DOG: Sheriff s deputies responded to Delaware St on reports of a dog running at large. Deputies located the dog at which time appeared to show signs of aggression. The owner then arrived securing the dog inside a fenced area.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Kristina Vanwinkle of Washington CH, OH was traveling south on S.R 734 when a deer entered into the path of her vehicle. Vanwinkle struck the deer causing minor damage to her vehicle. No injuries were reported. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident in the 7000 block State Route 753. Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that no signs of violence or threats of violence had occurred. TRAFFIC CRASH: David Brown III of Bloomingburg, Ohio was backing in a private drive when Brown struck a vehicle owned by David Sayre of Bloomingburg, Ohio. Brown was cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Control. ASSAULT: Osvaldo Monduys, Washington CH, reported while working at the Ranch of Opportunity he and other staff were assaulted by two juveniles. 09-06-14 DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between a male and female in Jeffersonville. Both parties denied any physical altercation or threats. The male agreed to leave the residence for the remainder of the night and departed without further incident. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to a Jeffersonville address on reports of a verbal dispute. No threats were reported. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE / THREATS: Deputies responded to a domestic incident in Paint Twp. Upon arriving and interviewing Daniel Atwood and Angela Atwood, both of Bloomingburg, it was determined that David Atwood had threatened physical harm to Angela and had physically assaulted Daniel. David Atwood was arrested and transported to the Fayette Co. Jail on these charges. 09-05-14 TRAFFIC CRASH: Edith Brown of Washington C.H., Ohio was exiting a driveway in the 1200 block of U.S. 22 when a vehicle operated by Mark Watson of Xenia, Ohio was traveling westbound on U.S. 22. Brown failed to observe Watson s vehicle and entered U.S. 22 into the path of Watson s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Brown was cited for Failure to Yield. MISSING CHILD: The Miami Trace Middle School contacted the sheriff s office regarding a student enrolled however had not shown up for school. Attempts to contact the parent(s) were unsuccessful. Investigation is continuing. TRAFFIC CRASH: Brett Hamilton of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling southbound in U.S. 62 when a blue Ford truck started onto U.S. 62 from State Route 238. The Ford truck struck the right rear corner of Hamilton s vehicle. The Ford truck then departed the scene without stopping. No injuries were reported. TRAFFIC CRASH: Jessica Smith of Leesburg, Oh was traveling north on US 62. Smith s vehicle was struck by a rock thrown from another vehicle causing damage to the windshield. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash. TRAFFIC CRASH: Kent Stimely was traveling north on I.R 71 in the left lane. Stimely attempted to change lanes to the right lane striking a vehicle operated by Aaron Hilliard of Dayton, OH. No injuries were reported. Stimely was cited for Failure to Stay in Marked Lanes. Both vehicles sustained minor damage in the crash. BURGLARY/THEFT: An employee with Altisource reports person(s) unknown entered a residence and removed items from inside. SUSPICIOUS: Jerry Seitz of Washington CH, Oh reported an unknown male subject arrived at his residence advising he was sent there to retrieve a dog that they had adopted. Seitz made contact with adoption agency and they advised they have sent no one there to retrieve the dog. The male subject was asked to depart and not to return. TRAFFIC CRASH: John Gray of Greenfield, was traveling south on S.R 41 and while attempting to pass a mail truck that was stopped, Gray s vehicle struck the mirror of the mail truck. No injuries were reported. Minor damage to both vehicles. 09-03-14 MARIJUANA ERADICATION: The Fayette County Sheriff s Office, in cooperation with the Ohio Attorney General s Office-Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification conducted a two-day marijuana eradication operation throughout Fayette County on Tuesday and Wednesday, canvassing areas by aircraft and recovering over 200 marijuana plants. According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the plants seized during the operation were located in agricultural areas. Some plants were located growing in and around the area of homes throughout the county. During this cooperative effort, the location and seizure of some of the marijuana plants have led to the identity of the growers and these cases will remain under investigation and likely result in the filing of criminal charges, said Stanforth. FORGERY: A Jeffersonville, Ohio resident reported a known male subject forged his name as a co-signer on several documents. The incident is under investigation.

Lewis of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported sometime within the past 5 days persons unknown trespassed on his property and removed several items. DISORDERLY CONDUCT/ OBSTRUCTING OFFICIAL BUSINESS: A sheriff s deputy was dispatched to the area of the Fayette County Fairgrounds on a report of an intoxicated person. The male suspect was located on the property, and was found to be intoxicated. The male failed to cooperate with the deputy, and was placed under arrest. Kerry S. THEFT/ CRIMINAL TRESPASS: An employee with Buckeye Community Apartments reported person(s) unknown entered an apartment and removed several items from inside. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: An employee with Jeffersonville Green Apartments reports person(s) unknown sprayed a privacy fence with a red liquid causing damage. THEFT: Elizabeth Staten of Washington CH reports person(s) entered her vehicle through an unlocked door and removed items from inside.
