MONDAY 5 th SEPTEMBER 2011 CODNOR PARISH COUNCIL Minutes of the Meeting of the Codnor Parish Counil held in Peverel House, Mill Lane, Codnor PRESENT: Chairman, Counillor G Parkes Counillors: C Emmas-Williams, JR Moon, Mrs C Cox, Mrs A Moon, Mrs M Parkes, A Longdon, Mrs H Longdon, P Smith, M Whittall, P Baxendale PCSO 4422 A Dare, PC 2989 Welerry and seven memers of the puli were in attendane 123/11 PUBLIC a A written omplaint had een reeived from a Codnor resident regarding onern over speeding on Heanor Road, Codnor. Counillors Parkes and Emmas-Williams have sine aompanied the Polie during a speed hek on this road and Nottingham Road, Codnor. During this session several motorists were noted to e speeding. Proseution for speeding results in an 80 fine and 3 points on a liene. Counillors ommented that 8 years ago a petition had een raised to redue the speed limit on Heanor Road with a susequent response that no amera would e installed. A further omplaint was reeived regarding issues in and around the Goose Lane area. There has een fly-tipping followed y materials eing set on fire, the waterourse floods, ostrutions to the footpaths leading to Codnor Castle and horses are sited on and around the fields to the ak of the rereation ground sometimes ostruting the footpaths. All issues have een sumitted to the relevant departments at Deryshire County Counil who are investigating and retifying matters within their remit. The RSPCA have een informed with respet to the horses and report the horses are healthy and as suh an take no further ation. The polie request memers of the puli to inform them immediately upon witnessing any suspiious ehaviour. 124/11 POLICE a Chairman, Counillor George Parkes introdued and welomed PC Anna Welerry into her new post as Polie Constale for the Codnor area replaing PC Dave Morton who has ahieved a welomed impat on Codnor during his 7 months in post. PC Welerry informed memers that she has worked in Ripley and loal areas and looks forward to working in Codnor. Counillor Emmas-Williams welomed PC Anna Welerry and also thanked PCSO Alison Dare for her work and providing ontinuity. d Memers of the puli informed the polie that young people had een seen, espeially on Saturday evenings around 6.30pm walking to the ak of the hanging rooms on the Rereational Ground, Alfreton Road, Codnor. Beer ans and roken ottles are found around this area. The polie request that anyone witnessing suspiious/anti-soial ehaviour to ontat them immediately. The polie advised memers and the puli to e vigilant with old allers, people in the street asking for help with money and telephone sams and to tell neighours, friends and family to e areful. Everyone is welome to join Counillors helping to keep Codnor tidy and are asked to meet at the Clok Building, Market Plae, Codnor at 10.00am. 130/11 COUNCILLOR VACANCY Following the resignation of Counillor Rex Ael, Amer Valley Borough Counil had notified the Parish Clerk that no-notifiation of interest in the vaany had een reeived and as suh the Parish Counil ould seek to fill the vaany. Counillor Emmas-Williams proposed that Clerk advertise the vaany and that a losing date for written appliations e set at 30 th Septemer 2011. Interviews to follow on 11 th Otoer 2011. By a show of hands all were in agreement. RESOLVED that the Clerk advertise the vaany with details in the Parish notieoards. 131/11 MINING WHEEL Counillor Emmas-Williams informed memers that Simon Unsworth, previously of Groundwork Dery & Deryshire, was in the proess of designing a draft information panel for the proposed interpretative oard to e installed at the site of the mining wheel. The ost to finalise this work is 250. Pryorsign, suppliers of interpretive panels/stands have quoted 779. Plans for siting two enhes, eah osting 419, has een granted y AVBC, planning department. It was proposed to approve the osts. By a show of hands all were in agreement. RESOLVED that the Clerk plae offiial orders for the graphi design work, the interpretative panel and the enhes. 132/11 CLOCK BUILDING Counillor Emmas-Williams informed memers that during the summer months, the taps in the gents puli toilet had een vandalised and the sink loked ausing water to run out of the uilding onto the footpath. The ost for pluming/repair work was 140 in retrospet. 133/11 BONFIRE/FIREWORKS EVENT/CAROLS ROUND THE TREE a Counillor Emmas-Williams proposed that a quote for the provision of a sound system for oth the Bonfire/Fireworks and Carols round the Tree Events e onsidered at a ost of 315 and 180 respetively. By a show of hands all were in agreement. RESOLVED that the Clerk write onfirming the order. Memers onsidered the purhase of a new Guy Fawkes anner for the Bonfire/Fireworks event at a ost of 50. By a show of hands all were in agreement. RESOLVED that the anner e purhased. Counillor Emmas-Williams proposed the prodution of a small numer of Calendars, depiting various senes within Codnor, whih ould e sold at loal usiness outlets. Depending on demand further opies would then e produed. By a show of hands all were in agreement.
