TIRE TRACKS January 2017 N CT E L E E TH RSIO E V C I ON R Greetings, Waynesboro Staunton Region Members & Friends, As we close out 2016. I trust you all had a great Christmas with friends and family. As 2017 comes rolling in, we want to wish you a Happy New Year. It won t be too long before we get the old cars out again for another year of W-S activities. My wife says I always associate people with the cars they drive. To test that theory, this month we ll publish some pictures of members cars. See if you can match them with the owners. Volume 47, Issue 1 TIRE TRACKS The Official Publication of the Waynesboro-Staunton Region Visit our NEW website http://waynesboro-stauntonregion.aaca.com/ January 2017 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. Thanks to everyone who could make it to our annual December Christmas Meeting/Party at Pano s Restaurant, especially Charlotte Kuykendall and Jack Drago who hosted our gift exchange. Chester and Nancy Bradfield took home Pano s Choice Award with their 1938 Studebaker Coupe Pickup which they brought out along with a few others who also brought their old vehicles out in the rain. It appeared that we had a very nice end of the year meeting/party with very nicely done truck tree hanger ornaments and centerpieces which were made and brought in by Clarice and Stu Allen. Again, thanks to all. This will be my last President s Message and I can truly say it has been an honor and pleasure to serve as your President for the past 2 years. I especially want to thank my wife Shirley for assisting. I certainly have enjoyed the ride. I hope I did not bore everyone with meetings being too lengthy, but if anyone had something to say I did not want to cut them off and/or out of the discussion. As I hope you know, I placed a great importance on our recognition and standing within our community. I feel this strengthens our Club in many ways. I feel Alfred Meyer and Walter Wilson will bring a lot to the Club and will perform very well in their new roles. Please plan to attend our January meeting to witness their being sworn in as your new President and Vice President. Please do not forget to pay your National and Region dues which are both now due. Again, thank you for your support. Ken Farley Meet Our New V.P. - Walter Wilson I asked Walter to tell us a bit about himself and here is his response: I grew up in Northern Virginia in the City of Fairfax and went to JMU and George Mason Law School. I lived in Fairfax for over 40 years and served one term on the City of Fairfax City Council (1994-96). I moved to Delaware for my job and then was transferred a year later to the Richmond area. I lived in Midlothian for about 15 years before moving to Fishersville in October of 2015. I'm an attorney who works for a title insurance company handling land transfers under cell towers all over the country. Since we deal with customers all over the country I can easily work from home. Allison and I met at JMU in 1978 and after about 25 years of no contact we got back together in 2006 and got married in 2008 (in Denmark). Allison purchased a 1946 Chevy pickup truck last year and we have been trying to get more involved --so she volunteered me for the VP position. Walter A. Wilson, III Cell phone # 804-475 - 8993 Thanks, Walter (and Allison) for volunteering!
