Southern Hospitality 2017 Downtown Atlanta Guide
2 City Information Downtown Atlanta Getting Here Getting Around Weather Getting to Atlanta is a breeze. 80% of the U.S. population is within a two hour flight of ATL and our airport has more direct domestic flights than any other U.S. airport. From the airport, it s a quick 15 minute drive into the heart of Downtown. For drivers coming in from surrounding states, ATL is the hub of the Southeast. Interstates 75, 85, and 20 merge just outside of the city. Downtown is a walkable, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood with amazing restaurants and shops situated just steps from the city center. If your travels take you to a different area of the city, we recommend MARTA, Atlanta s rapid rail line with stops in Midtown & Buckhead, as well as Uber for your transit needs. Although known for its dramatic heat, this wonderful city does in fact experience all four seasons. July is our hottest month of the year while January wins the race for the coldest. The average annual temperature of 61 degrees allows us to take advantage of our great outdoor festivals, happy hour patios and multiple parks year round!
