On July 7th, after breakfast we went to the Claremore VA Center to visit with the residents. It was good to talk to the guys and listen to their stories about their experiences when they drove Model A s and thank them for their service. We had six cars make the trip. July 15th was our 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Stokley Event Center. Many thanks to Ken and Tory Brust and Jerry Conrad for an excellent program. Arranging the cars in the number 50 was pretty neat. The dinner was excellent, topped off with ice cream and cake. Everyone had a great time. (see Ken s Nuts and Bolts article for more details). Thanks again Ken. August 4th breakfast will be at the Golden Coral Restaurant at 71st and Mingo at 9:00am. On August 11th we will be going to the Will Rogers Fly-In at Oologah. We will meet at the Quik Trip at 71st and 193rd (County Line Rd) at 7:00am for the trip to the Will Rogers Ranch. September Breakfast will be the 8th instead of the 1st because we will be going to the Circle Theater for a silent movie. Phil Judkins will be playing the organ for us. Keep cool and keep driving your A. visit us on the web at www.tulsamodelafordclub.com May the Ford be with You, Don Reed

Nuts & Bolts (Or Miscellaneous Tidbits) by Ken Brust Happy 50th!! Our party seemed to be enjoyed by all and we completed the aerial photo with only minor modifications. My thanks again to all for your help and participation. I believe I recognized all of you who had direct involvement in the preparation of the event except for one person, and a very important person, to say the least, my lovely wife, Tory. She is the best, so Thank You, Tory!! Our various sponsors helped us have a fun celebration with very little expended from our club s treasury, so please be sure to thank and patronize these sponsors when able. Happy Anniversary to Jerry and Charlene!! 61 years and still going strong! The Tuesday morning coffee group at McDonalds on 91st & Memorial is still going strong with almost a dozen participants each week!! All are welcome so drop by when able at 7am. All remaining breakfasts for the year beginning on August 4 are scheduled at Golden Corral at 9am. Don Reed went over the club s upcoming events at the 50th celebration but there are lots of activities, so check the calendar in the RumbleSheet. Two events coming soon include the Will Rogers Fly-In on August 11 with tickets for a complimentary breakfast to those bringing an A; and in September, we have breakfast on the 2nd Saturday (Sept. 8) and afterwards will mosey over to the Circle Cinema for a silent movie and listen to Phil Judkins play the organ. The Circle Cinema is celebrating its 90th birthday along with the 1928 Model A. It is the oldest theater in Tulsa still operating. Several members have talked about going to the weekly informal car shows conducted on the NE corner of 91st & Memorial each Tuesday from about 5-8pm. Lots of hot rods and muscle cars but few very few cool Model As like ours. Anyone game? If you want extra tag toppers for your other cars, the DuValls have ordered a few extra ones. See me. They are $7 each. Chris DuVall has another trivia contest for us at the club meeting in August. Better bone up! Ollie is tough to beat! Happy Trails and Happy 50th Anniversary!
