Registration Desk Getting to the Medical Center The registration desk is located in the ground level Foyer close to the blue lecture room and will be staffed during the meeting from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The easiest way to get to Utrecht University Medical Center is by public transport. From the central train station and city center there are direct busses (lines 11, 12 and 12S are the fastest). During working hours these busses go to the medical center and vice versa every 5-10 minutes. You can create your personal itinerary at 9292.nl/en. At the registration desk bus passes can be purchased for a small fee. Taxi rides from the city center to the hospital can cost up to 25 euro, depending on traffic. When traveling by taxi, tell the driver to drop you off at the main entrance of the medical center. When coming from Schiphol International Airport, it is best to travel by train to Utrecht Central Station. Access to the train station is directly from the arrival hall of Schiphol Airport. It is obligatory to purchase a ticket in advance at the ticketing desk or from one of the ticket machines. Once at Utrecht Central Station you are advised to travel to the Medical Center by public transport. Most hotels are close to bus stations or a short taxi ride away. Alternatively you can also reserve an airport taxi that can take you to your hotel in Utrecht or to the Medical Center. Prices vary widely and range from approximately 50 euros to 150 euro. It is best to arrange this in advance.
When traveling to Utrecht University Medical center by car, park in the visitors garage. The price for full day parking is approximately 12 euro for a full conference day. You can plan your trip by car at www.tomtom.nl. Travel by car can, however, be problematic because traffic around the hospital may be heavy due to ongoing road construction works. Message Board A message board will be set up in the poster area. Breakfast, Lunches and Dinner Delegates are responsible for their own breakfast arrangements. Lunch will be served daily in the foyer area close to the Blue conference room. On Tuesday evening delegates are responsible for their own dinner arrangements, as only light snacks will be served at the opening reception. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings full dinners will be served during the evening social activities. Coffee and Tea Breaks Coffee breaks will also be held in the foyer area around the Blue conference room. You are invited to enjoy your refreshments in the Industry and Poster areas. For more information click: http://bit.ly/tvmppp Wednesday evening, September 19, we will visit the National Railway Museum in Utrecht where we will enjoy a nice dinner. The museum is located in the former Maliebaan railway station. This 19th-century station on Maliebaan has been fully restored to its former glory. Here you feel like the first passenger in a recently completed station in 1874. A lavishly painted booking hall with chandeliers, a 1st and 2nd class waiting room, a luxury dining room and even toilets with a 19th-century feel show you how the station was once the gateway to the world. The Royal Waiting Room from 1892 from the State Railway station in The Hague makes the station an example of stations of those days. Venue address is: Maliebaanstation, 3581XW, Utrecht. Thursday evening, September 20, we will have dinner at De Haar Castle, one of the largest castles in The Netherlands. There are only a few castles in Europe that have the same ideal image of a medieval fortress with towers and ramparts, with canals, gates and drawbridges as De Haar. The castle was entirely restored and partially rebuilt in the late 19th century and it rises like a real fairy-tale castle from a park with large trees, surrounded by old gardens and ponds. The oldest remnants of the castle date back to 1391. Venue address is: Kasteellaan 1, 3455 RR Haarzuilens For more information click: http://bit.ly/nbfheq Friday evening, September 21, we will visit the beautiful Hermitage museum in Amsterdam for a tour and dinner. The Hermitage Amsterdam is a subsidiary of the Hermitage museum in Saint Petersburg in Russia and is located on the Amstel river in Amsterdam. They currently feature an exhibition on Impressionism of which we will receive a pre-dinner tour. The building was opened in 1682 as a retirement home for elderly women, and, for centuries, the building was used as a retirement home. The building was transformed into the museum when the last inhabitants left in 2007. Venue address is: Amstel 51, 1018EJ, Amsterdam For more information click: www.hermitage.nl/en/
