GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes December 19, 2018 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order. Thirty members were in attendance. GUESTS: There were no guests at this evenings meeting. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Freddie thanked: Dan Gorby and Donna Tucker for hosting the December dinner out to Carver s Steakhouse. The turnout was great and the food delicious. All Club members that made 2018 a great year. Special thanks to Donna for all her hard work planning all the social events and Judy Smith for her hard work organizing the Corvette only car show and making it a success. VICE PRESIDENT: Bob Haugh called for the following committee reports: SECRETARY S REPORT: Larry Kopa motioned dispensing with reading of the November minutes. Carol Tavener seconded. TREASURER S REPORT: Herbie Smith: Provided the report. Received thank you cards from Connie and Mark Shank and Debra McElroy. Also received a thank you from the Dayton VA Medical Center for a previous donation. SOCIAL: Donna Tucker recapped the following event: January TBD: Dinner out hosted by Peg and Rob DeLorenzo. February TBD: Dinner out hosted by Bob and Freddie Haugh. May 11: Twenty-four members have signed up to attend the Elvis Tribute starring Mike Albert and The Big E Band at the Murphy Theatre, Wilmington OH. Anyone who would still like to go must contact the Murphy Theatre and pay the regular price. May 17-19: Train ride in Elkins WVA. There is one room left at the Holiday Inn Express, 1-304-630-2266. She will make the train reservations in March. November and December: Still need hosts for the dinner out.

MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener: Reported that we currently have 130 members. She will be contacting those members she hasn t received a response for membership dues. Sent get well cards to Connie Shank and Debra McElroy. PUBLIC RELATIONS: No report as Bob Sledge was not in attendance. EDITOR/ WEBMASTER: No report as Mike Jones was not in attendance. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR: Tom Brooks provided the following: There is a new display, Gas to Space Stations, at the NCM. Cars from astronauts will be featured. Anyone attending the NCM Bash in April will have an opportunity to see this display. NCM has two cars from their wish list on display: a 1982 Silver C3 and a 1985 Black Beauty C4. He is selling $10.00 raffle tickets for a white exterior/black interior 2019 Corvette. The raffle is February 7, 2019 at the Museum. President s Corner: Old Business Freddie said that she was contacted by Grant with the Dayton Dragons. June 1, 2019 is the date the Club will show their cars. The game is at 7:00 p.m. with the South Bend Cubs. Grant is holding 50 tickets for the Club. Tickets are $12.00 each and must be paid 60 days in advance of the game. Any member participating is asked to have their car at the stadium between 5:00-5:30 p.m. Freddie will send out an e-mail the first of the year with information. New Business Freddie reminded everyone that December is the month we accept suggestions for organizations to which we make a donation. The following organizations were motioned and approved: Alzheimer s Association American Cancer Society Dayton Veteran s Volunteer Services Hope for the Warriors Kentucky Trooper Island National Corvette Museum

St. Vincent DePaul Society St. Jude Research Hospital USO Volunteers of America at the Dayton VA Freddie also said that we seem to forget the elderly that live on a limited budget and some have to decide on whether to spend their money on needed medications or food. Some may not even have a way to get to a local food bank. She contacted Fairhaven Church, Centerville OH and they indicated that there are at least five elderly that could use help. The Club approved that 10 gift cards to Kroger s be provided to help10 elderly people. Freddie is planning and E-board meeting in early February. She asked George Frymyer to conduct the 50/50 drawing which was won by Roger Winterbotham. Roger won $41.00. Carl Durbin motioned the meeting adjourn; seconded by George Frymyer.
