AirCamp @ Whip poor will Get ready for a week-long adventure in aviation! Learn about the technology and engineering of aviation and aeronautics. Work with your flight team to retrieve an airplane black box during a water rescue training exercise. Design and paint an aircraft, take flight ground school, meet experts in the aviation field, and so much more. By the end of the week, you will learn to pilot a real aircraft from an active runway in the Dayton area, under the direction and support of an FAA certified pilot instructor. Junior Instructor Leadership Program JUNIOR INSTRUCTOR LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Build your leadership skills at camp by interning as a Junior Instructor at Camp Stonybrook s Troop Adventure Camp. Junior instructors run many of the programs at TAC such as hikes, arts and crafts projects, and more! This is a competitive program based on applications, references, and interviews. Applicants may not be selected. Junior Instructor Eligibility Requirements Be a registered Girl Scout going into 10th 12th grade. Apply online at camp.gswo.org/ji by March 31, 2019. Attend a group interview on April 13, 2019, at Camp Stonybrook. Be selected for the position. Attend training overnight at Camp Stonybrook from June 02 06, 2019. Agree to work at least two weeks during the summer. Benefits 1st year Junior Instructor: $25 stipend each week after pre-camp training 3rd year Junior Instructor: $100 stipend each week after pre-camp training 2nd year Junior Instructor: $50 stipend each week after pre-camp training JUNIOR INSTRUCTOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM Expand your JI experience and help out at the pool after completing ARC Lifeguard Training. Counselor-in-training & Junior Counselor Program If you are interested in a future job as a camp counselor or just want to expand your leadership skills, join us for our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) and Junior Counselor programs! These progression-based programs will prepare you to be role models for young Girl Scouts and help you build skills useful both on and off camp. During all CIT and Junior Counselor programs girls go home on weekends between weeks. Counselor-in-Training 1: Grades 10-12, $175 CIT 1 s attend two weeks of camp and earn their CIT 1 pin. CIT 1 s spend their time in training sessions building leadership skills, shadow unit counselors, and plan activities for younger campers. Camp Whip Poor Will Jun. 16-Jun. 28 (CIT 1 s go home the weekend of June 22) Camp Libby Jul. 21-Aug. 02 (CIT 1 s go home the weekend of July 27) Counselor-in-Training 2: Grades 11-12, $195 CIT 2 s attend three weeks of camp and earn their CIT 2 pin. CIT 2 s take on a bigger role by being assigned to a specific younger girl program for a week. They also attend more advanced training sessions, have the opportunity to shadow program specialists, and develop the All Camp Game for their final week. Camp Whip Poor Will Jun. 09-Jun. 28 (CIT 2 s go home the weekends of June 15 & June 22) Camp Libby Jul. 14-Aug. 02 (CIT 2 s go home the weekends of July 20 & July 27) Junior Counselor training: June 01-june 03 Girls who have completed both CIT 1 & CIT 2 can apply for a Junior Counselor Internship. Approved Junior Counselors will attend a 3-day training during Pre- Camp with the Camp Staff and choose the weeks they would like to intern. Junior Counselors must complete a minimum of 1 week at Camp Whip Poor Will and 1 week at Camp Libbey. Eligibility Requirements: 1. Be a registered Girl Scout for the 2018-19 school year 2. Register for the Junior Counselor session in MyGS 3. Complete application online at camp.gswo.org/juniorcounselor 4. Interview with the camp director 5. Attend training June 01 June 03

Online Registration opens at 6am: - Resident & Day Camps, Jan. 23, 2019 - Special Events, Jan. 23, 2019 - Troop Adventure Camp, Feb. 20, 2019 - Registration form available at camp.gswo.org. TAC REGISTRATION: Download and complete paper TAC registration forms at camp.gswo.org/tac and fax, mail, or walk the form in to any regional council office. A $10 deposit per girl is required. 2. Visit camp.gswo.org to look at all camp descriptions. 3. Choose the program/s and date/s your camper would like to attend. 4. Click Register Now under the program your camper would like to attend. 5. Log into MYGS to complete your registration. 6. Confirmations are located in MYGS for your convenience. Payment is easy! Here s what and when you need to pay: New Registration Time! 1. Non-refundable deposit $50 for resident and/or day camp ($10 for TAC) per camp/per camper, or payment in full if less than $50 - due at time of registration. 2. $25 membership fee (if not a current Girl Scout) - due at time of registration 3. Remaining balance Due by May 17 or your registration is subject to cancellation Refunds and Cancellations Cancel in writing 30 days prior to session date and receive a refund, minus the nonrefundable deposit. If you cancel closer to the session date, include a doctor s note or other suitable documentation. Acceptable situations include camper s illness, family emergency, move from service area before camp begins, etc. If eligible for a refund, submit written request for the balance of the fee within two weeks of the end of the camp program. Other refund requests will be considered on a case by case basis prior to camp, if notification is given on or before the cancellation date. Deposits are nonrefundable unless the desired program opportunity is full or has been canceled.
