Authorised Distributor for Mobil Company Profile 2016

2

About Us Lubrication Specialists (PTY) Ltd was established in 18 as a joint venture company between ExxonMobil Corporation and Manica Group Namibia in order to compliment the re- introduction of the Mobil Brand into Southern Africa. In January 2005, the ExxonMobil shareholding was transferred to Engen Petroleum Limited, in line with the previous co-operation agreement between ExxonMobil Corporation and Engen within Southern Africa. Lubrication Specialists has since then emerged as the largest single supplier of Marine Lubricants in Namibia, servicing the International Marine industry from the ports of Walvis Bay and Luderitz, and enjoys a substantial market share in other lubricant supply markets. In August 2009, Manica Group Namibia acquired 100% shares in Lubrication Specialists, which made it a wholly owned company of Manica. In 2014 Lubrication Specialists signed an Authorised Distributorship deal with Exxxon Mobil to distribute Mobil products to the marine, industrial and commercial sectors. In 2016 Lubrication Specialists opened its first branch, Lubes Specialists in Gaborone, Botswana to provide Exxon Mobil products to the industrial, mining and commercial vehicle markets. Our Culture At Lubrication Specialists we firmly believe that customer relationships can be better developed if clients understand the purpose and value add that we as a group are striving to achieve. BEE Social responsibilities and Corporate Citizenship Being a wholly owned subsidiary of the second largest private company listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange, Lubrication Specialists is very aware of its responsibilities towards Namibia, its environment and its people. Since the company s humble beginning as a Marine Lubes Distributor with only two employees, it has grown into a significant job provider within the Namibian economy. Today Lubrication Specialists directly employs 30 permanent, skilled and semi-skilled employees. In addition, the company s five warehouses and lube distribution centres, countrywide all contribute to the creation of livelihood in rural areas. With a current annual turnover of NAD 98m, its overall contribution to the Namibian economy is quite significant. Hence, our annual budget includes financial support to a variety of charities, schools and local sport development through direct sponsorships as well as through group initiatives of Manica Group Namibia. Major initiatives include providing baby formula milk to destitute babies in Walvis Bay monthly, sponsorships and donations to educational and health related initiatives, regular beach-cleanup efforts, equipment sponsorship for Hyena, Vulture, Dolphin 4 Lubrication Specialists follows Manica Group Namibia s Affirmative Action plan and for the past eight (8) years the company has been certified compliant to national legislation by the Employment Equity Commissioner. The company also forms part of the group s BEE scorecard, and is monitored on Equity Ownership, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Preferential Procurement and Social Responsibility. As Manica Group Namibia is certified a Good Contributor by the Namibian National Preferential Procurement Organisation, Lubrication Specialists ensures that it makes use of local suppliers and service providers as far as possible and where needed in distributing its lube products.
