Directors Message Hello BCR Members of 2019. Happy New Year. As I write my last Directors message, it becomes apparent to me that; this club of old Buick enthusiasts, have more in common than just old cars. We are a nostalgic lot, who enjoy family connections, traditions, friends, sharing time with others and just plain being. We have celebrated holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, Fathers days, and car shows together. As we plan our events for 2019 in support of our new Director Terry let s bring those ideas forward. And most importantly bring your personal calendar(s) it really helps with this event. It has been a pleasure serving this group for the last few years. I walk away with a greater appreciation for the coordination it takes for this group to stay relevant and committed to our hobby. I extend my warm welcome to the new officers and will continue to offer support as necessary. Happy Buicking April Kahnberg BCR Director 2018 3
MINUTES OF THE BUICK CLUB OF THE REDWOODS DECEMBER 12th, 2018 MEETING Director, April Kahnberg, called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. and welcomed all members attending. Membership is 25 members. As per BCR bylaws, dues are due on January 1 st of each year. December is renewal month. There are 17 renewals with 7 outstanding. Rich stated that Bill Jones said he may not be renewing this year. As of meeting night, there is only one pre-ordered T-shirt that has not been paid for. A check for the cost of T-shirt plus postage should be in the mail for the one shirt not paid for. OLD BUSINESS All members present who attended the BCR Christmas dinner and gift exchange agreed that it was a great event. Thanks to Dave Bergmann for arranging the dinner reservation at Cattleman s and thanks to Alden and Adela Hennings for hosting the post dinner dessert and gift exchange. The total bill for the dinner was $420.00 which included food, tax and gratuity only. $234.00 was collected from members who attended. The BCR treasury paid $160.00. A motion was made to reimburse Dave $394.00 (total Cattleman s bill minus $26.00 for Dave and Linda s dinners). The motion was seconded and passed by unanimous vote. April read a thank you letter that will be mailed to Cattleman s thanking them for the wonderful dinner and the great service. All members present at the meeting signed the letter. As per BCR bylaws, election of club officers is held at the December meeting. A motion was made to elect the entire slate of those nominated for office. The motion was seconded and passed by unanimous vote. BCR s new slate of officers is: Director Terry Eggleston Assistant Director Jay Emery Treasurer/Membership Rich Kahnberg Secretary Joan Costello Webmaster Terry Eggleston Newsletter Editors Rich and April Kahnberg Terry brought it to the attention of members that the Webmaster has been given credit for also being the club Historian. Terry feels that Joan, the club Secretary, should be given credit since she is responsible for suppling documents such as Charter Members, Bylaws and History of Officers for our Webpage. Discussion followed with April stating that the Webmaster is responsible for our history by posting pictures to the Webpage. Sharing the title of Historian may be the best solution. The 50/50 raffle was won by Jay. The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m. As our newly elected Director, Terry thanked our incumbent officers for their willingness to serve for another year. Jay was thanked for stepping up and taking a new office. Terry thanked April for her last four years of leadership. Respectfully Submitted, Joan Costello Secretary 5
