Kotor (42 25 27 N, 18 46 07 E ) Located along one of Montenegro s most beautiful bays is Kotor, a city of traders and famous sailors with many stories to tell. The Old City of Kotor is a well preserved urbanization typical of the middle Ages, built between the 12th and 14th century. Medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made Kotor a UNESCO listed World Natural and Historical Heritage Site. Visit the fortress of St. Ivan above Kotor s old town with its fantastic view of the entire Bay of Boka Kotorska. 5 Montenegro Guide

Perast (42 48 69 N, 18 69 92 E) One of the best preserved baroque settlements in the Adriatic. The two picturesque islets across from the town are landmarks of the entire region. They lie in harmonious conjunction; the island of St. George - an intense, stalwart, dark and inward-looking natural island, and Lady of Skrpjela (Rock) a man-made island that was built by scuttling old ships and depositing stones around a small crag. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by the seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea on July 22, 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. Every year on the sunset of July 22, an event called fašinada takes place. Local residents take their boats and throw rocks into the sea, widening the surface of the islet. 6 Montenegro Guide

Budva (42 28 81 N, 18 84 25 E) Is Montenegro s summer metropolis. It s a town that does not sleep. Its coastline is 21 km long and contains numerous beautiful sandy beaches, extreme water sports, vibrant night life, and numerous casinos. St. Stefan (42 15 17.58 N, 18 53 41.62 E) Today it s the most exlusive resort in Montenegro, but in the 15th century the island was a fishermen s village. It is connected with the mainland by 2 sandy beaches. The last residents of the village were evicted in 1950 when Sveti Stefan was transformed into a luxury town-hotel. The streets, walls, roofs and façades of the buildings were, for the most part, preserved, while the interior of the building were transformed to offer the most modern comforts of a luxury hotel. Back in the 1970s, it was also popular among celebrities such as Princess Margaret, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, etc.. 8 Montenegro Guide

For adrenaline seekers National Park Lovc en The main attraction of Lovc en are its panaromic views. They leave an unforgettable visual impression. The Park encompasses the central and the highest part of Lovc en massif, covering an area of 6.400 hectares. Most of the sacral objects and interesting ethnographic material in Lovc en is concentrated in the area of Ivanova korita and the village Njeguši, which is famous for fantastic ham and cheese. Climbing up 461 steps to the mausoleum of the greatest Montenegrin poet and ruler Petar Petrovic Njegoš (1813. - 1851), represents a highlight of the visit. The mausoleum is the most important work of the great Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrovic. It is said that Meštrovic asked for a symbolic fee Njeguški cheese and ham. NP Lovc en has the first adventure park in the Region. Located on two hectares, there are seven paths divided by sports and extreme-adrenaline activities. Every path possesses up to15 games for those aged 5 to 70 years old. On their way to the finish line, visitors encounter different obstacles while traversing from one platform to the other, with the help of cords. 9 Montenegro Guide
