Anacapa Yacht Club Mainsheet Volume 2018 Issue 3 & 4 Mar & Apr Commodores Report: Ted Wright Hello All, I do not have any updates from your commodore this edition, but as the editor I will take a few liberties here. Ted has been very busy with a successful racing seminar series, they have been well attended and we have had a lot of positive feedback. Vice Commodores Report: Bobbi Lehman Hello Everyone: I want to say another big thank you to everyone who helped with our Opening Day. We are not a large club yet we put on one terrific party. Thanks to all who helped clean-up and prepare the club and all who helped prepare food and set-up and took down afterwards. It took a lot of work but so many of you jumped in to make it happen. I also want to take a moment to give a shout out to our Friday/Saturday OD s. The dinners have been amazing. We have had such diverse menus and the people are really enjoying our dinners. At our last Board of Director s Meeting we discussed our need to attract new members. We tossed ideas around between the Board and some suggestion were game nights, movie night and just we want to have fun. Now I want to get input from members in general what do you want to see our club do? What is fun for you? Should we designate one Friday night (or Saturday) as Celebrate Birthday Night to celebrate all the birthdays in that month? Are there games that you enjoy playing that we can bring to the club and play on a Sunday afternoon? Send me your thoughts and ideas. I can t guarantee we will do everything suggested but I will listen to ideas and share them with the membership to see what we can put into action. Please feel free to come by the club to greet people who may come by. We want them to know that we are a friendly club that welcomes new people. Anacapa Yacht Club teamed up with Vintage Marine Partners to do Harbor Clean-Up and we had a great turn out. You Guys Rock! Thanks for caring about our community. Wet Wednesdays are starting so I want to thank the OD s in advance for your commitment to our club. I appreciate that we are a club of Cruisers and Racers that work together to make things happen. Rear Commodores Report: PHIL SCRIVANO No updates from the Rear Commodore for this addition. Again as the editor I will take some liberties here too Phil has been busy with a very good start to our Wet Wednesday races, we have had great turn out on the water and at the club for dinner and awards. I personally want to thank the Race Committee for getting results and prizes out at an early hour for us working class. Lots of new courses and some new boats, so if you haven t been out yet, get out there! Need crew or want to be crew? Contact Phil or Ted they know folks and can get you started.
