NEW THIS YEAR Don t have to go home, but you can t stay here OH WAIT, WE CAN!!!! OVERNIGHT CAMPING IS AVAILABLE AND ENCOURAGED! Troops are invited to spend the night and do their own winter camping. Scouts must stay with their units and Leaders. Be Prepared to camp in Winter Conditions. Please be a spirited scout and don t leave in the dark without experiencing all the deep dark woods has to offer, by bivouacking overnight. Troops Welcome to come early to set up before main event
KLONDIKE SLED Build a traditional Klondike sled, or go completely modern and use plastic. Feeling creative? Design and Build your own Klondike Sled using any materials you have on hand, wood, PVC pipes, plastic etc. Just remember. Must be pulled by Scouts (no Motors, Jet fuel, no Wile E Coyote Rockets) Must hold all your equipment Have fun with it That s it! That s the rules. Be creative and have fun Building and Designing yours. All the Hard work will pay off with a prize for the Most Creative sled!

Collect Gold along the way!
FROZEN SCOUTMASTER: Do you let it go or save your Scoutmaster from becoming a Popsicle in the icy water? Work together, use your skills, but don t fall in! DEAD DOG TOSS: No use for dead weight on your sled, bring your strongest Scout to see How much Dead Dog could a Boy Scout chuck, if a Boy Scout Could chuck Dead dog? (no animals were harmed in the making of this event) FIRE AND ICE: Starting a fire on a nice sunny day is a piece of cake right? How about when it s a nice cold icy night? Test your skills and make a fire in the roughest of conditions. 5 STAR ACCOMODATIONS: Cold, dark and in the wilderness; now what do you do for shelter? Build a shelter that any Polar Bear would be proud to call home! 911 UNAVALIABLE: Who knows the dangers that are around the next corner, be prepared for a first aid emergency out in the wilderness when calling 911 is out of cell range. Be quick to access, treat and bring to safety, you will be timed! DEAD MAN S MOUNTAIN Can you safely get your Troop and all your equipment up and over the newly famous Dead Man s mountain? No leaving Scouts behind for the coyotes. Must cross the finish line dead or alive. YETI TARGET PRACTICE: Stop the Yeti from attacking your sled using his own natural habitat..snow!! We might have some other tricks up our sleeve to give you the upper hand. NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK: Don t worry, we won t ask you to find a needle in a haystack, but we will ask you to add one! Let s see how far you can stand back to make it to the hay! GOLD FEVER! There s Gold in them there Hills! Don t forget to bring a bag to collect gold along your journey. Gold will be handed out for preparedness, teamwork, and scout spirit! Prize awarded to the Scoutmaster of the Team with the most loot.
RIDDLE ME AN OBSTACLE RACE You need brains and brawn to complete this challenge. Race through the wild woods of Danville and be first to cross the finish line. Crossing first does not declare you the winner; you must go up against the RIDDLE MASTER!!! Solve the impossible to be declared Champs of the Moonlight! DOUGH!!!!!! Another Cooking Competition Prepare a meal to feed your Troop and provide a sample to the hungry judges. Must contain a flour or dough base and the rest is up to you! HOWLING GOOD TIME! As the night comes to an end, each Troop will do a send off with the loudest, most unique Howl at the full moon that they can! Lets try and not invite wolves to our bonfire with our howls!

Those staying overnight will have to follow Leave no Trace guidelines. The town has been very gracious to designate the area as the Town s Boy Scout Camp. If you do not register for the event, please send e-mail to Kristy Walker with Estimated Troop attendance for planning purposes. K_walker333@yahoo.com Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts may attend with their Troop. Troops are encouraged to come early to start cooking their meal and gather firewood. Main Event begins at 5:00pm Hot Cocoa will be available and we promise not to charge you for it Not responsible for scouts eaten by Yeti s or frozen to the ground One Adult from Each Troop is responsible for collecting all medical forms and keeping an updated Troop Roster at the event. One Adult from each group will be asked to help out at a station. If you do not designate one, it is ours for the picking. Flashlights and lanterns are critical, as you will be participating in events after dark. Traditional or Modern sleds can be used at event.
EMERGENCY INFORMATION IN THE EVENT OF SCOUTS BECOMING TOO COLD, WE HAVE A LARGE WARMING TENT AVAILABLE. IT DOUBLES AS OUR FIRST AID QUARTERS. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR EXTREME WEATHER WHERE WE NEED TO EVACUATE, WE WILL RELOCATE TO THE QUEEN OF PEACE CHURCH IN DANVILLE.
