Hospitality Bettie Edwards Recently was hospitalized with a bowel blockage. To correct it, she had a double colostomy and spent several weeks in the hospital before gaining her strength to be able to go home. She s doing much better now. Terry Glenn was hospitalized with a fall and on-going heart issues. He s home now getting stronger. Monika LeGrone has fallen twice since we last saw her. The first fall resulted in a broken right wrist and the second a broken knee. No surgery was required, but she has a lengthy rehab stay to be able to walk again. Diane Glenn had emergency surgery to remove a ganglios gallbladder. An infection kept her in the hospital for a week, and she ll need 6-8 weeks to fully recover. We send our warmest wishes for the health of these special friends and for the entire California Chapter. Sarah Speakman page 5
FMCA Governing Board Meeting 84% of the Governing Board were present, therefore a quorum was reached. The meeting started at 9 am and was over at 3:45 pm. Election Results: President: Jon Walker Sr Vice Pres: Rett Porter Secretary: Gaye Young Treasurer: John Reynolds Budget: A $9.6 million budget was passed and balanced. Dues: Will remain the same through 2018. 1 st year $60, 2 years $90, 3 years $135, 5 years $200 Proposal: (1) To not allow members with same F member to hold National Offices at the same time. FAILED (2) To address gender expression as part of FMCA rules. FAILED No discrimination on any sort is allowed so this proposal was not necessary. I was one of a number of speakers who spoke against this unnecessary proposal. (3) To change FMCA rules to allow towables PASSED easily, not even close. Note The whole membership will now vote. Prior to the formal meeting, we had a day long workshop to hash out the details of the of the proposals, it went well so the formal meeting went smoothly. June of 2017 showed the largest increase in FMCA members in the FMCA S history. We are on course to hit 74,000 plus members by years end. Tire Program Now includes the Continental Tire as well as the Michelin Tire. Both offer large savings. A total of 1,724 coaches traveled to the meeting. I will be happy to address any questions you may have. Sonny Gillespie Cell 949-422-6556 Home 951-492-0787 SONNYGW@aol.com Page 6
