Registration Check in is at 5:00 PM Friday Night and Check out is 9:30 AM on Sunday Morning. Registration is ONLINE ONLY. Visit www.nfcscouting.org/calendar to register. The fee will be $15 for youth and $5 for adults if paid by 5pm Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. This includes all activity fees, a patch and insurance. Shirts are optional for an added $10 per person. The fee will be $25 for youth and $15 for adults between Dec. 15-Jan. 11. Meals are not included. This event is designed for Boy Scouts, please do not bring your Cub Scout Pack with your Troop. Be sure to bring the following with you at check in: Roster of Scouts and Adults, Medical Forms for all attending members Friday night Campfire starts at 8:30 PM. Please be in full field uniform (Class A). Directions to Camp: St. Johns Riverbase at Echockotee 2513 Doctor s Lake Dr. Orange Park, FL 32073 From Jacksonville US-17/Roosevelt Blvd. or Park AVE: From US 17 go to Kingsley Ave. / SR 244. Turn West onto Kingsley and go to the third traffic light and turn left at Doctor s Lake Drive. Proceed 1.9 miles to camp. The entrance is on your left shortly after the stoplight. From Jacksonville SR 21/ Blanding Blvd: From SR-21 Blanding Blvd. go to Kingsley Ave. Turn East onto Kingsley Ave. and go approximately 2.5 miles. Cross railroad tracks and immediately turn right onto Doctor s Lake Drive. Proceed 1.9 miles to camp. The entrance is on your left shortly after the stoplight. 2
River Bend District Camporee Activity Tips Games: Your troop should have a basic understanding of Scout skills including but not limited to knots, lashings, fire building, and animal and plant identification. Other games will be team- building games that test your ability to work together. Dutch Oven Cook Off: Your troop will HAVE to use a dutch oven & the item you make must be a desert. We would prefer for the youth to make the dutch oven meal. There WILL be mystery ingredients so be prepared. Skits: There will be a program on Saturday night for Troops to perform a skit in front of the rest of camp. There will be a form to be filled out and returned to our campfire chairman, Jon Salek. You will need to include a brief summary and the materials you will be using for your skit. IF THE SKIT IS NOT SCOUT APPROPRIATE OR NOT THE SKIT TURNED IN ON YOUR FORM, YOU WILL BE REMOVED OFF THE STAGE AND POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SPIRIT AWARD. Spirit: All troops are encouraged to participate fully in spirit as it is a big part of the scoring for spirit award. All forms of spirit wear are encouraged, along with yells and cheering. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL SPIRIT RELATED THINGS ARE SCOUT APPROPRIATE! Spirit Award rubric is included within this leader s guide. Scoutmaster Games: Scoutmaster games will be available during the regular activities for adult leaders to partake in. Fair Play: Everyone in the troop must have a chance to compete in the games. Make sure that all scouts, old and young, are getting a chance to participate in ALL the events. We promote fairness and equality. WE ENCOURAGE TROOPS TO RESPECT ALL TROOPS ATTENDING. ANY FORM OF TEASING, HAZING, CHEATING, OR OTHER FORMS OF UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL RESULT IN A SCORE DEDUCTION AND A TALK WITH THE TROOP. IF ANYONE STARTS TO ARGUE WITH THE STAFF YOU WILL BE REMOVED OUT OF THE GAME AND NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY OTHER EVENTS THROUGH OUT THE WEEKEND. River Bend District Camporee Information & Rules Meals: Meals are not included. You will need to bring your own meals and cooking equipment. Uniforms: Make sure everyone is in proper attire for proper events. There will be a schedule to stick to and you will need to make sure that you dress properly in accordance to the schedule. No open-toed or open-back shoes allowed Scout and Adults. Field uniform (Class A) should be worn for campfire and church service. (Scout shirt, scout shorts/pants and scout socks) Activity Uniforms (Class B) should be worn for games and flags. (Troop T-shirt, Scout shorts/pants and scout socks) Vehicles: NO vehicle drivers may be left in the campsites. Other vehicles should be unloaded and brought up to the Rotary building for parking. ALL vehicle drivers MUST BE over 21. ALL passengers wear seatbelts. Do NOT ride in truck cargo areas. The speed limit on camp is 15 MPH. IF YOU GO ANY FASTER WE WILL DEDUCT POINTS FROM YOUR TROOP. Campsites: Be respectful of the Scouts in adjoining campsites. Stove and Lantern Fuel must be stowed safely Only battery operated lights in tents. No fireworks or personal firearms. No fires if there is a fire ban. Ask first. Use downed wood only for fires; DO NOT cut down trees. Conduct: No contact sports No alcoholic beverages. Violators will be asked to leave camp.
