Fellowship on Wheels Issue: 11 Established 1949 November. 2014 Presidents Report Vice Presidents report Sorry folks, enjoying life on the Ocean waves There were 39 vans including 3 first time visitors Keith and Kay Chorley and Rod Stegeman plus one visitor from the Blue Mountains Caravan Club Dennis Cotterill. (plus a resident Koala). Our golfers hit off early on Friday morning and included 4 ladies. The Ambrose competition was won by Alf, Kev and Peter. Saturday afternoonsaw the pairs disc bowls competition hotly contested. Congratulations to the winners Peter and Nerida and what a popular win it was. Several games were won on the last end and there was fierce competition right up to the final. Saturday night was Oktoberfest and congratulations must go firstly to Yvonne Robbins our entertainment coordinator. Yvonne was ably helped by many ladies and men. A sausage and sauerkraut on a roll washed down with German beer was a high light and Yvonne cooked 4 large trays of Apple crumble. What a night! Not a big rally by our standards but quality all the way. Thanks to Roy and Carmel for stepping into the convenors job. Seven couples from the club boarded the Sea Princess on the Monday following the rally for a trip to New Zealand. I think happy hour will be a daily thing on board. Safe travel and we look forward to our next rally at Maleny and don t forget your French costume. Club News Hi Members. Reggie Foster asked me to place this small thankyou in the Magazine some weeks ago and I apologise for it s being inadvertently omitted. Reg and Stella would like all club members to know they greatly appreciate the help and assistance they have received over the last couple of years at various Rallies. Reg asked that particular mention be made of Dennis Edney and Bob Kearney. He regards them both as very special people as they always seemed to be on hand to assist in their setting up and packing up, without a second thought. They both look forward to seeing us all again very soon. Special Notices PLEASE READ For info on CCCQ, their website address is http://sites.google.com/site/caravanclubsqld/. All persons on a QCC rally site, both members and visitors, must sign the Attendance Book. The Next General Meeting will be at the Maleny Rally on Sat 8 th November. Many thanks. If possible, when members are the first to connect to a tap, could they attach a two way connecter so as to save the next arrival having to hunt around the venue to find you and let you know they are going to turn your water off for a period whilst they connect The same applies when leaving. Please, would the connectors advise all fellow connectees of your intentions as folk may be enjoying a luxurious shower.thank you kindly. Do you have a CB radio? If so,would you be kind enough to let the Rally Marshalls know of your impending arrival so they can have some idea of were to put you.ta Muchly! Our club is collating a Recipe Book and would be grateful for your tried and proven recipes, tips and hints. Preferably caravan or RV friendly. Email them off to our club email by the end of December. We hope to have this book in print in time for the 2015 State Rally at Stanthorpe. Sunday Meeting Well, Members, that s it for now. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of Tom Smith and Wendy Gibson for their contribution to the Magazine with their photos. The QCC Wanderer seems a bit on the sparse side, but all being well it will be back up to it s usual self next issue. I will possibly be at Maleny as a Day visitor as Yvonne is in UK attending her Mum s Funeral. We are in the process of moving as well,so things are a little up in the air. Looks like we missed a great Rally at Esk,but I am determined to try and get to the Maleny Oo-la La night. A few Cuties to go out on!!!
