This is a Grimaldi Lines cruise-trip from Civitavecchia to Barcelona, during which participants challenge each other in an interactive quiz. Listen carefully to your guide! Every single piece of information is relevant and useful for the final quiz. An uncommon talent show and the long-awaited concluding quiz take place on the ship sailing the Mediterranean Sea and everyone wishes to achieve a step of the winners podium. What feelings and what memories! It was an unforgettable excitement when our school, L.S. G.Galilei of Siena, won the third place in the competition! 21 MARZO 2018 Federico Faustini
Travel Game, more than a simple trip! On the fourth week of March many groups of students came from different schools gathering in a ship of Grimaldi Lines took part in a competition. The voyage programme was organized in order not only to entertain the students during the cruise with a quiz game, but also to let them visit a beautiful city for 3 days, Balcelona. The challenge consisted in two parts, both to be attended during the cruise, or rather during the way there and back of the travel. The first quiz required general knowledge, than after the students' visit to Barcelona, they had to answer to specific questions linked with what they had already seen. According to the popular opinion of the students this was an amazing experience, because it managed to combine the classic school trip, that sometimes could look a little bit boring, to the opportunity of staying together and get to know other people came from different places, even if the duration of the visit appeared to someone as too short! But that speed let them visit more things such as museums, monuments and the main squares of the city. Take just a few time and think: do you want to try this experience? Giulio Polvere
Learn and have fun towards Barcelona Galileo Galilei High-School made a great performance at the Travel Game. Galileo Galilei students took part in the project organized by Grimaldi Lines named Travel Game, a quiz challenge between schools from Italy to Barcelona. The guys from Siena were divided to small teams of four students. The game took place during the way to Barcelona and on the way back the Galilei best team climbed on the podium with an amazing third place. At half-game a team was even first in the rank. These guys were fantastic and this award is for all of them! said their teacher. The school made a good impression both in the competition and for the behavior of all students. Clearly there wasn t only the competition but also time for culture and entertainment around Barcelona and its surroundings. The Museum of Salvador Dalì shocked and impressed the guys that were excited to admire the works of this incredible Surrealistic painter who immediately found a way in their hearts. The students loved this journey and now they have come back to Siena with an extra award and a new experience to add to their lives. Andrea Fabrizi
A trip to Barcelona and the visit to its Scientific Museum It is what a group of students from the high school Galileo Galilei of Siena have done. They are back from a short-stay of four days in Spain: we walked two days around the most famous streets, like the Rambla, and we visited the most characteristic monuments- we have seen for example the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell- and then we spent an afternoon at the CosmoCaixa said a girl. The general impression about the museum is positive: most pupils declare not to have payed attention to the passing of time and to have been engaged in trying the interactive plays, whose notable amount was also appreciated. The reproduction of the rainforest -or bosc inundat in Catalan- has been the most successful attraction: the students said they felt like being in a real forest with some typical animal species near them. No one had any complaints about the museum, but many students would have preferred to walk in the streets a bit more. Elena Franci
Walking around the Bouqueria of Barcelona A few days ago a group of students from the high school Galileo Galilei of Siena came back from Spain and they told their impressions about the city. They saw a lot of things in Barcelona: It was the second time I had visited Barcelona, I think the city is one of the best in Europe, I love the main attractions as the Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell or the Cathedral but the Mercat de San Josep is something special said a boy. The general opinion about the Bouqueria is good: almost all students said they appreciated the stands because they tasted traditional foods and they felt the atmosphere of the city. What have more success were the fruit stands, because they are very corlful and the pupills were amazed by the variety they offered. Someone complained about the crowd of people inside the market, because they were afraid of being robbed but after the visit they agreed that the risk was worth it. Maddalena Rossi
Art through school, school through art Last week, in a ship of Grimaldi Lines, which sailed from Civitavecchia to Barcelona, an initiative called Travel Game took place. Many italian schools participated in order to reach the first position in a cultural quiz. The main aim of all the students was to win the final competition based on questions about Spain. In order to know more about Spanish traditions same guides made guys visit the city of Barcelona and some museums, like the one of Salvador Dalì, in Figueres. This is not a normal museum: this is something more! Dalì s museum turned out to be attractive not only for art enthusiasts, but for everybody. Surrealism can be admired or not, but the theatre-museum is without any doubt a moving place. In the 21th century young people too often don t appreciate art museums, infact those students could never have imagined they would enjoy a museum so much. Certainly, the power of art is something certain and this experience organized by Travel Game underlines how much art is an important interest for humans nowadays, too. Dalila Rosati
The Figueres Masterpiece On 24th March, the classes IV D and V D of Galileo Galilei Scientific High School from Siena went to Figueres to visit the Dalì Theatre-Museum, because it was one of the topics of Travel Game, a challenge between different school done on a ship, during the voyage to come back to Italy from Spain. Salvador Dalì, the Spanish Surrealistic artist, decided to build his museum inside the old theatre of Figueres. In this museum there are a lot of Dalì's works and it designed to have the visitors cover the entire route from the entrace to the exit, in fact it is impssible to leave the museum using the entry. Dalì said "I want to be buried in the centre of my universe", in fact he is buried under the central room. An aspect of Dalì's life that the museum highlights is the importance of his wife: most works are for her or about her. There is also a room with her private collection of Dalì's pictures and a room with Dalì's goldsmith art works for his wife. What woman wouldn't want a man that thinks to his wife as the most important thing of his life? Sara Gallorini
Travel Game Troubles Teenagers from every part of Italy are now celebrating their arrival in the harbor of Barcelona. The city welcomes them with its beautiful night skyline; unfortunately that marvelous view is just a fair reward given what happened last night. On the 22 nd of March at 2 a.m. Cruise Rome left Civitavecchia. It had been foreseen a windy night with really choppy waves for the whole trip. The weather forecast was respected. In fact, a lot of people started to suffer sea sickness, many passengers felt bad and the majority of them were looking forward to the end of the trip. As some travellers are reporting, it took a great effort to remain twenty hours on Cruise Rome shaken about like dice in a cup. They add it was also hard to stay outside because of the strong wind and the cold weather. Luckily it s all over. They are now able to spend a great week meeting and having fun with their peers. High School Game: learning while travelling The experience of a group of students who participated in the Travel Game 2018 During the period between 21st and 27th March, one of the ships of the Grimaldi lines hosted the students who chose to participate in the Travel Game. The competition was held onboard, however it was only half of the students experience. In fact they all spent three days of the week travelling around Catalonia, visiting the best places that the region could offer. The competition was divided into two contests: the first one was during the travel from Civitavecchia to Barcelona. Then, during the voyage back to Italy, there were the semifinals. The purpose of this contest was a beautiful prize: the team that wins the contest will bring his whole class on a journey to Spain next summer. The Travel Games is by now the most famous school contest in Italy and it's been organized since 2011. The finals will be held in Civitavecchia, and we will surely hear about it again. Giulio Centini
Live the trip What is better than combine fun and culture? I can t imagine something more appropriate Travel Game! Last week in fact, 800 Italian teenagers took part in an amazing school trip, during which they had the opportunity to learn something about Barcelona and at the same time to show what they have learned in a very interesting game arranged on a cruise boat. Teachers said: thanks to the game we found that our students were more motivated to learn than on an average school day There were many activities set up in order to make each student the protagonist of the trip, one of this was the visit at the Science Museum, Park Guell, the walk on the Rambla or the typical Spanish lunch in which they have tasted the flavour of traditional Spanish food. Everyone was pleased getting off the Grimaldi cruise, so we wish that students found the trip not only funny but also useful for their knowledge. Lorenzo Cellai
Hell on the sea The two classes of the High School "Galileo Galilei" of Siena finally arrived in the Hispanic ground. When the 4 D and 5 D of the Galilei started their trip to Barcelona, they did not expect what Mother Nature was holding in store for our unlucky adventurers, which gave to them an extremely difficult crossing by ship. This journey started at 6:00 pm of 21 st March, when the members of the two classes gathered at the Terminal in the street close to their school. Everyone was excited for this little voyage arranged by the school in collaboration with an organization called "Travel Game", which should have given entertainement and fun during the crossing. Everything was going perfectly as planned until they arrived at the harbour, when the bus driver gave the students the unexpected news that the sea would be rough and difficult also for those who did not suffer from seasickness. Finally, after 24h "of hell", they eventually reached the place which would host them for the next 4 days. Paolo Serafino Esposito
Corriere di Siena 21 MARZO 2018 Much more than a cruise! Have you ever been on a cruise to Barcelona with your classmates and your teachers in order to take part in the Travel Game for high schools? I had this experience last week and I can tell you something about this unusual journey. When the students were on the ship they were divided into groups of four people to answer the questions of the Travel Game. At the end of the first challenge every student had some free time which he could spend with his friends. In the afternoon the students met in a big room where they knew some members of the crew, who talked about their jobs. During the evening the students could go to the disco which was organized on the ship, so that they could meet other students. During the journey from Barcelona to Civitavecchia the students took part in a lesson about journalism explained by a professor. During the afternoon the students who had gained an important result at the Travel Game during the journey to Barcelona challenged again other students and the three prize- winning teams won some presents. If you think you will like this experience, I suggest you persuade your teachers to go on this amazing journey! Margherita Temperini
A cruise full of knowledge Would you like to spend four days on a cruise ship with more than 300 happy, noisy, and excited students like you? If your answer is yes, then you re probably interested in the experience that some teenagers from Siena have just lived. Recently, they have been part of a project called Travel Game which gives to students from all over Italy the opportunity to board on a ship bound for Barcelona with a staff of competent people who organise a lot of activities for them. For example, as the students told us, there is the High School Game, on which the entire voyage is based. It s a teamwork where it is necessary to choose the correct answer in a series of 20 multiplechoice questions about general culture, and they have had a lot of fun playing it! Anyway, they have made other experiences. In fact, the entire journey gave them the opportunity to visit the beautiful Barcelona, and they have enjoyed not only the time they spent on board, but also the amazing and interesting things that they have learned living for some days in a foreign city. This is the clear example of how travelling, learning, and having fun can be mixed up together to make the perfect combination! Eleonora Turchi
