18 Topic: Favourite Holiday Memory Prompt: You want to tell about your favorite holiday memory. The following questions will guide you in composing the text: 1. When did you go? 2. Where did you go? 3. Who did you go with? 4. What did you do? 5. How was your feeling? Don t forget to use past tense in your writing, and use correct generic structure including orientation (provides the reader with background information needed to understand the text. e.g. who, when, where), sequence of events (series of events typically ordered in chronological order), re-orientation (a summary statement/an evaluative comment/a personal opinion) Rafida 1 st draft MEMORABLE MOMENT AT PRIGI Last year, my drumband team from my school, MAN 3 Tulungagung planned to go on vacation to spend the holiday. We planned to go on Sunday morning and the destination is Prigi beach. Everyone on the team are joined. Including our supervisor and coach. We decided to gather at school before we left. On that day, I left to school and when I got there, I see some of my friends were arrived. After we got gathered, we pray to Allah swt, wish that our trip will on His protection. We finally departed by truck. Yes, truck. It s just usual, because everywhere the drumband team go, we always get in there. The trip was so pleased. Some of us were sat on the ground, while some stand up. I stand up myself. Some of us brought snacks and shared to everyone. Some boys were singing. Although their voice is a bit uh I can t say anything, but at least they re happy, I m happy, too. On the trip, I was so pleased by the view of different places. Because I seldom get out from my house, so it s so amazing that I can see so many places. Though it s just roads, ricefields, roads, ricefields. Something around that. But, when we almost reach the beach, we passed the roads throughout mountain. I got chilled there because of the low temperature. And the roads are up and down, up and down. It makes dizzy. Plus the temperature. After those hardship, we can finally see the beach. By the way, I heard that actually trucks can t carry people there. But luckily, nothing happened. We arrived there safely. But some of my friends can t held out and finally expend something from their mouth.
19 We arrived on the beach at noon. It s burned out there. But the beach was so beautiful. So many people went there. We held a mat on the warm sand under a tree and put our bags there. My friends immediately got in to the water. I didn t joined them because I don t want get wet. Then I and some of my girl friends took a walk and took some pictures. Some of my friends rode banana boat. I wan t to, but all seats were taken.after that we returned to the first spot, the mat. My coach and some of my friends were roasted chickens. After the chickens done, we got lunch. The taste was so good. While eating we chit-chatted. Then, after the lunch were done, we took group photos, and find some bathroom to clean ourselves and pray dhuhur. Some of my friends bought fishes for souvenir. We take rest for a while. Sat in some stall in the edge of coast. The view of afternoon was so beautiful. The water reflected sunlight and made it sparkle. The tide was low, so the rocks from underwater were revealed. We went home at afternoon. Passed on the same road before. But don t know why the trip feeled faster. Because the time s almost up, we stopped to a mushola for pray ashar and then returned our trip. And finally we arrived at school on evening. Right on maghrib. After that we went to ourselves home. This holiday feeled so impressive. I had lots and lots of fun. As you know, most of my friends are boisterous. Especially the seniors. They always knew how to make the atmosphere up, so it ll never be boring if you along with them. I ll never forget this forever. Rafida 2 nd draft MEMORABLE MOMENT AT PRIGI Last year, my drumband team from my school, MAN 3 Tulungagung planned to go on vacation to spend the holiday. In jogja we visited historic sites, beach center of souvenirs, etc. We went to Yogyakarta at night because the distance was very far. On the way, lot of my friends had the ill because of colds. Arrived in Yogyakarta, we stopped by the restaurant for breakfast. After that, we continued the trip. The first destination was Borobudur temple. Evidently, Borobubudur temple was very large. The view from the top of Borobudur temple was very beautiful. The next destination was Parangtritis beach. We took a rest and dzuhur prayed in the mosque which near from the beach. After that we headed beach together. In the beach we prohibited to swim because the waves was quite large. But it was not matter, we enjoyed scenery and food. After visited Prangtritis beach, we headed to the Malioboro market. In there we bought souvernirs typical Yogyakarta such a clothes, bags, accessories, food, etc. After took a walk in Malioboro market, we spent the night in hotel. In the morning we had to check out from the hotel. The next destination was jogja palace. In the jogja palace, there ware many relics. We did not forget took pictures in the jogja palace.i was so tired. After visited jogja palace, we continued trip to Prambanan temple. At 4 p.m we arrived at the Prambanan temple.
