BANK CEBITS TO DEMAND DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK AND GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS -- 1959 Summary figures, "by districts, by months Individual centers "by months These figures include dehits or charges to demand deposit accounts of individuals, partnerships, and corporations, and of State and local governments, and payments from trust funds on deposit in the banking department. They exclude dehits to United States Government deposit accounts, debits to time deposit accounts, and payments of certified and officers' checks, payments in settlement of clearing house balances, charges to expense and miscellaneous accounts, corrections and similar charges, and debits to the accounts of other banks, that is, to interbank accounts. The dates following the names of centers indicate the first year for which debits figures for that center are available. Comparability in scrae centers has been affected by changes in coverage, etc., and in all centers by the revision of the series described in the AprjJL 195^ issue of the Federal Reserve Bulletin. Where two dates ater" ITSowh the second indicates the latest change in coverage, etc., which has affected comparability since 1953 by approximately three per cent or more. Annual rates of turnover are shown in the summary table for the districts, the total, New York City, the 6 centers group, and the 337 other centers group -- without seasonal adjustment. Annual rates of turnover by months appear in the Federal Reserve Bulletin for the three latter groups, both with and without seasonal adjustment.
