Well done to all the students involved. On Thursday, 30 th of August, students who have private music lessons here at Mole Creek will be holding a special concert after school at 3:30pm. It would be fantastic for these students if as many people as possible could come along and support them. An afternoon tea order form was sent home last week for this event. Our four Country Gold representatives, Paige How, Sarah Woodberry, Josef Youd and Jack Blair, all performed excellently at last weeks carnival in their respective sports. Sarah (Division 1 Netball) and Josef (Boys Soccer) were part of victorious teams, congratulations. A big thank you to the Mole Creek Football Club for their donation of sports bags to the competing students and to parents for all their time and effort transporting students to training and matches. Congratulations to Rose Pennell for her bronze medal winning feat at last weekend s State Karate Championships in Melbourne. Rose received the medal for her tremendous performance in her Kata event. Rose would like to say a big thank you to Sensei Kim and the entire Mole Creek Karate Club. Department of Education
As you would have noticed from our recent notes to parents there has been an issue at school with head lice. I urge all parents to take the necessary precautions with their children to avoid head lice and to refrain from sending their child to school if they have not been adequately treated. School photos were held today and all student looked magnificent in their full school uniforms. Next Monday at 11:30am students from Prep to Grade 4 will be involved in a cricket clinic held here at the school. As this is not a normal PE day please ensure that your child has suitable footware. Lastly, I am pleased to announce that I will be Principal, in an acting role, until the end of 2012. Nathan Rockliff Principal We raised $275 From our recent Sunrise Bakery fundraiser. National Bilby Day and Jeans for Genes Day. On the 31 st of August our school is holding a National Bilby and Jeans for Genes Day. The National Bilby Day is raising funds for animals that are in danger of becoming extinct. (We will also plant a tree to symbolise the event.) Here is what the National Bilby Foundation had to say about the extinction of animals; Australia is very lucky to have some of the most beautiful and unique animals in the world. Extinction is no longer a natural process, most often it is a direct result of human activity. Every creature has a right to exist. Our challenge is to make sure they do. Jeans for Genes are supporting children s medical research. This is what Jeans for Genes had to say; Every dollar you raise or donate towards Jeans for Genes Day will help to bring tomorrow s treatment and cures closer for the benefit of children everywhere. There is no better feeling than knowing that you are helping the future of generations of kids, all while having fun. On the day just wear jeans or green clothing, or both! If you wish to wear green or jeans, you must bring a gold coin donation, all of the proceeds will be split 50 50 and sent to both charities. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jack and Brooke SRCs.
