Vivienne was spelt incorrectly, changed to Vivian, then were accepted as a true and accurate record and signed by the Chairman. 4. Matters arising None 5 Declarations of interest Cllr J Gray 10.a & Cllr M Evans 10.a 6 Police report- The clerk read out the report as no police officers were able to attend the meeting. Since the last meeting there are no reports for Brompton and Sawdon. 7 Report by Borough/County Councillor(s). The clerk read out a report from Cllr D Jeffels as he was unable to attend the meeting. Scarborough Council's scrutiny board is looking at the future of all its public toilets. Parish and town councils at Whitby and Filey are likely to be involved in taking over the running of some of the loos in key tourist areas and SBC itself is to spend several thousands of pounds upgrading others. Plans to build some 240 new homes in the vicinity of Beacon Road Seamer/Irton have now been submitted to SBC by Linden Homes. A Special meeting of Irton PC has been called to discuss the plans because of local concerns on the design of the scheme. One of the priorities will be to seek significant funding to improve the mini-roundabout at the junctions of Pasture Lane, the former A64, and Stoney Haggs Road which will see a marked increase in the volume of traffic if the development goes ahead. There are concerns about the potential impact of reduced funding to schools in North Yorkshire, Cllr Jeffels is currently meeting local head teachers to explore ways of dealing with the situation. The Government has today (Mon April 3) announced that 20 million is to be made available to seaside resorts for new projects and hopefully Scarborough Borough to benefit. The researcher contacted Mary with regards to entering Brompton, which Mary is to do and hopefully if successful to be filmed in June with the open Gardens. 9 Highways matters - a.) Tree outside the school to be looked into further. b.) Letter received Joe Harrison to confirm Grounds maintenance costs 2017. This will remain the same as last year 7 cuts at 425.00 per cut with added 20.00 for the new area top side of Sawdon Village Hall. 445.00 per cut. c.) SAWDON- Highways Department has passed on the complaint about blocked drains in the Main Street to Environmental Health Officers at SBC. It appears there has been some kind of leakage of a yellow liquid which has got into the drainage system. BROMPTON- The faulty street light near the junction of Sawdon Lane and the A170 has been replaced with a new lamp along with all the other street lamps in the village. Work is to be carried out on the footpath linking Hungate and the Village Hall which has become hazardous because of tree roots making it extremely hazardous. Suggestion of signs indicating that HGVs should not use Malpas Road as requested by the PC, has been discussed with highway officers. However it appears it could cause problems for trucks going down Barker Lane, Snainton to. Farms and properties on Snainton Carrs, because they would have to make long detours if prevented from using Hungate, The Butts and Malpas Road. (2) Update on the Councils current financial position - The Clerk updated the Council on its current financial situation. It had a total of 25173.32p in the bank at the end of March 2017 and 4809.33p in the business saver account. Payments received HMRC VAT 1545.00 and Northern Powergrid 7.84. 12 Brompton and Sawdon Village Halls Brompton Village Hall -.A commemorative opening was held and now has a plaque outside the pinfold site. The website has been set up with adjoining pages to the church, Brownies etc. Sawdon Village Hall - The children s party that was held over Easter was very successful. A curry night is to be held 25th April. The profit is to be split between the Village Hall and the Alzheimer s Society. Phase 2 is now completed, round the back of the village hall has been resurfaced with a path leading to the door. The planting has been done to hide the container. 13 Update on attendance at outside meetings - None 14 The Butts, Brompton - Cllr Triffitt has obtained a rough verbal estimate for the repair of the bank side from the Bridge to the Seat which is 14,000. Official quotes are to be obtained and grants looked into. Cllr Carey explained that over 3000 has been spent on replacement windows, guttering and grab rails and are now waiting for Graham Mort to provide a price for a membrane and gravel to be put in the garden area. k.) Issues with parking on Cayley Lane / Church Lane are still ongoing. The clerk explained that she had contacted the Parking enforcement department and they explained that it was a police matter. l.) Clerk to contact Brompton Hall School to ask if they can trim back the hedge on West Brow. m.) Complaints have been made to the PC regarding the ditches outside Martin Tubbs at the Butts that there is no life to be seen. The Chairman and Cllr Carey advised that the ditches were cleared out with the appropriate instruction from the Environmental Agency. 18 Date, time and place of next meeting The next meeting would take place on Monday 15 th May 2017 at Sawdon Village Hall for the annual and ordinary meeting commencing at 7.00pm.
