Tulsa Police Department www.tulsapolice.org TPD on Facebook TPD on Twitter Crime Stoppers (918) 596-COPS Alcohol Infused Gummy Bears We recently received the following article that we think is important to pass on to parents of teenagers. Leave it to teenagers to take something as wholesome as gummy bears and turn it into boozesoaked mischief. Using online tutorials, some teens are soaking the candy in vodka for several days and eating it to get a buzz. B O L O B O L O B O L O Not actual suspect vehicle Okla. Tag 184-GCS (Continued on Page 3) On Nov 3 rd a white Chevrolet Tahoe, Okla tag 184-GCS was seen leaving the scene of a residential burglary near 39 th and St. Louis Avenue. The vehicle was driven by a black male, 25-30 years, 5 10, 200 lbs. wearing a white shirt and white pants. Thieves will window shop on shopping center parking lots, looking to see what people leave in their cars. These are crimes of opportunity. It only takes seconds to break the car window and make off with your valuables. From the Major s Desk With the ending of Daylight Savings Time, homeowners need to be more vigilant in keeping their homes secure. Close garage doors when no one is inside them. Also increase lighting around your home to make it less tempting for burglars.

Introducing Officer Barnes Catch of the Day My name is Glenn Barnes. I grew up in Tulsa and graduated in 1996 from Memorial High School where I played football and basketball. I received my bachelor s degree in International Business and French at the University of Tulsa. (Continued on Page 3) Nov 3 rd Officers were called to a shooting at the Foxfire Apartments, 7317 South Utica. They learned from the victim that three subjects kicked in his door and one of them shot him in the abdomen. The victim returned fire, hitting one of the suspects. Officers checked hospitals and found the shot subject and other juvenile suspects. Following interviewed, Daione Williams was arrested and booked into jail for Robbery with a Firearm. He is also being held on a warrant for a prior Robbery with Firearm charge. Daione Williams Have a question? Send us your question at TPD Riverside News We ll answer in an upcoming newsletter. Q: Is the Police Department better prepared for bad winter weather than last year? A: We have Chevy Tahoe 4 x 4 SUVs with winches assigned to each patrol division. Several officers at each division are being trained to use these specialty vehicles over the next couple of weeks. Find your beat The Riverside Division covers a large portion of south and west Tulsa. Generally, we serve citizens south of 11 th Street and west of Sheridan Road to the city limits. George, Henry and Ida are the names of the 3 squad areas in the Division. Each squad contains 5 beats. - 2 -

Police say because teens are eating handfuls of candy, they don't know how much alcohol they're ingesting at a time. The teens get really drunk really fast without their parents finding a trace of illicit substances. Trends from the west coast often make it to our area. The link below is one of many online videos that demonstrate infusing candy with alcohol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjh dmfn6lo0&feature=player_embedded The driver of a vehicle shall completely stop his vehicle before entering any intersection where official stops erected. Vehicle stops at stop signs shall be made with the vehicle ceasing all forward movement, in the proper lane, behind the extending curb line of the intersecting street, and in a position where the driver has complete visibility to the right and left of the intersection. The preset municipal fine is $150. Officer Barnes (Continued from Page 2) I started the Tulsa Police Department in May of 2004. This is my fourth year working at the Riverside Division. I currently work third shift Henry squad. I am single and live in Tulsa with my two dogs, a border collie and a Saint Bernard. I have three nephews that live in Broken Arrow. My middle sister Kara married in February and recently informed us that she is expecting. I enjoy having my family so close and to be able to watch my nephews grow up. I am proud to be a part of the Tulsa Police Department family as well and look forward to the many years ahead. - 3 -
