DISTRICT 2-X3 NEWS DECEMBER 2015 PAGE 18 Killeen Evening Lions Club, cont. Rosebud-Lott Lions Club The Rosebud Food Pantry hosted the year s big food drive on November 13 and several Rosebud-Lott Lions assisted by weighing food items, sorting and stocking pantry shelves. (Below, L to R) Lion Jim Campbell, Lion Harriet Campbell and Lion Mike Heise admire full pantry shelves ready for distribution to their community. (L to R) DG Janice Tooke visited the Killeen Evening Lions Club on December 1. She awarded certificates from LCI for Guiding Lions training to PDGs John and Gladys Tramp, Lions Dave and Debbie Stone, and PDG Lawrence Sanchez. District Governor Janice Tooke inducted new member, Larry Smith (above center) into the club. Lion Larry s sponsor is Dave Stone (right). President Darie McCleaves (center) awarded Lions of the Month for November to VP Leslie Holman and PDG Lawrence Sanchez. Samaritian s Purse s Operation Christmas Child drive in Rosebud to collect shoeboxes full of toys, Bibles, and kid-friendly items for shipment overseas to third-world children resulted in 2,300 shoe boxes neatly packed, taped and ready to ship at the end of the day. Rosebud-Lott Lion Jim Campbell helped by assembling, packing, sealing and loading a truck full of boxes ready for shipment. There are 2,300 children who will have a much merrier Christmas this year thanks to their hard work and huge hearts! Rosebud-Lott Lions recently celebrated their first year anniversary as a club. This is one club with a busy calendar and a heart for serving others in their community! Happy Anniversary, R-L Lions!

DISTRICT 2-X3 NEWS DECEMBER 2015 PAGE 19 Temple Founder Lions Club hosts second annual Fill a Ford TFLC Lion Lathe Owens (below) receives cash donations from Temple Police Department officers to purchase food for his club s Fill a Ford food drive to benefit Food for Families. Temple Founder Lions Club, in partnership with Johnson Brothers Ford and Food for Families-Temple, collected enough food donations and cash to provide the equivalent of 7,000 pounds of food in their second annual Fill a Ford event. TFLC, working with Lion Harry Adams of Johnson Brothers Ford and Extraco Banks-Temple Region, established, publicized and manned early drop-off stations for added donor convenience. TFLC also assisted at the official Temple-area collection site on Friday, November 20. Food for Families, led by KWTX-TV, is a 9-county single-day effort to stock area food pantries for the holiday and winter seasons. Temple-area collections exceeding 130,000 pounds benefited six local pantries serving East Bell County. The Food for Families effort as a whole collected over 1.5 million pounds of donated food. (Pictured above, L to R)Lion Harry Adams, Lacy Adams, KWTX s Nia Harden, Lion Michelle Fettig, Lion Carol Sepulvado (with grandchildren) and Lion Stan Giles present TFLC donations on-camera at the Scott & White collection site. TFLC Lions Bob Farrell and Ken Neilson collected food at Johnson Bros. Ford on November 20.
