SOL NEWS UPDATE NOVEMBER 2016 Hi From Sol! Welcome to our November edition of the Sol News Update. Sol Barbados Team at the commemorative flag raising ceremony Sol Barbados Celebrates 50th Independence with Guardians of The Heritage Initiative As Barbados is celebrating fifty years of Independence this year, the Sol Barbados Team was proud to engage in the Guardians of The Heritage initiative hosted by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). By becoming a partner in this project, Sol Barbados demonstrated their pride along with the entire country by taking part in the commemorative flag raising ceremony. Participants pledged to continue looking after, protecting, and defending the values and virtues of Barbados nationhood.

Sol Guyana Team at the new promotion launch Christmas Cash Winners Sol Guyana Launches the Win Christmas Cash & Groceries Promotion Sol Guyana successfully launched their Win Christmas Cash & Groceries promotion on November 14, 2016 and it will conclude with a grand prize draw on January 20, 2017. The Sol Guyana Team is very excited about this promotion that has several great prizes such as cash awards, grocery shopping sprees and Christmas gift draws for household appliances. Customers can also enter the Cash Machine and win up to GUY $100,000. The Promotion has been well-received by customers who are enthusiastic about the chance to win an assortment of different prizes.

The seminar, which was facilitated by Lubricants Specialist Douglas McClean, focused on the basics of motor oils, the Shell product formulation, and the benefits of using these products. This event was well attended by the SVGCC Technical Division, Sol service station attendants and the commercial sector such as members of The Roads, Buildings, and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) and the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA). After interviewing several participants, it was clear that the training was beneficial to all and participants are looking forward to more of these sessions.

From commencement until the end of the year, every customer purchasing eligible quantities of any Shell Lubricants will receive a scratch card. Every scratch card will give the customer the ability to win a gift including top-up phone cards, Shell-branded caps, and water bottles. The feedback from customers has been very encouraging and the team looks forward to a successful promotion.

Sol Grenada with the winners and participants of the Inter Secondary Table Tennis Tournament Sol Grenada Inter Secondary Table Tennis Tournament The Sol Grenada Inter Secondary Table Tennis Tournament was held on November 10, 2016 and was again a great success. It was held at the Youth Centre Morne Rouge in St. George, Grenada. Table tennis teams comprised of students from each secondary school who competed against each other in different age categories. Sol has exclusively sponsored the tournament for the past 6 years and it was well supported by the teams, coaches and members of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This event has received extended media coverage and provided Sol with an excellent opportunity for increased brand recognition. Great job Sol Grenada! Sol Grenada Team enjoying the festivities Sol Grenada Emphasises Teamwork On October 19, 2016, Sol Grenada participated in its first team building exercise. The purpose of the event was to bring staff from all departments together and strengthen team spirit throughout the office. The event started with a tour of the Grenada House of Chocolate and continued with a cooking competition and team building games at the True Blue Bay Resort. The team had a fabulous time and have requested that a similar event be planned for the very near future.

Sol Grenada Team celebrating the launch Sol Vitara Promotion Launches in Grenada Sol Grenada launched their We have a Vitara with your name on it! promotion on November 4, 2016 and it will run until January 13, 2017. Participants will receive an entry form with every EC$40 spent in Sol Go Further fuels for a chance to win a brand new Suzuki Vitara. There will also be weekly prizes of free fuel and 8 weeks of Facebook games and happy hours at several service stations to raise awareness about the promotion.

Sol Suriname with Lubricants Seminar Participants Some of the partiicipants at the lubricants seminar Sol Suriname Complimented for Engaging Lubricants Seminar The lubricants team in Suriname trained over sixty customers when they held two influencer training sessions. Day one of the training targeted mechanics, a very key customer segment in the growing consumer business. The second day focused on high street influencers; those persons who retail lubricants as part of their product offer, such as auto parts retailers and general stores. Bholanath Ramesar, Lubricants Manager and Facilitator of the training, indicated that the sessions were very interactive with many questions from the engaged participants. Attendees were trained on the basics of lubrication and viscosity and gained valuable insights on the specifications and applications of the various Shell Lubricants. Some of the attendees interviewed commented that the training was very useful and that they will be able to apply what they learned in their roles. At the end of the training, everyone received a certificate of participation and was treated to dinner. Participant in the Sol Adventure Rally Sol Suriname Team and Guests enjoying the day's festivites Participants preparing for the rally activities Sol Suriname Adventure Rally For the twentieth time, participants gathered for the annual Sol Adventure Rally on October 8, 2016. This rally took participants to the outskirts of the tropical rainforest parallel to the coast of Suriname, also known as Savannah. This location was selected by rally fanatics for the sole reason of putting navigation skills to the test. During the event, Sol s staff hosted a meet and greet with the participants and guests who also enjoyed the sunny weather and cooking by the Sol Master Cooks.

Sol Suriname Launches their Win Groceries for a Year with Shell Promotion On October 23, 2016, Sol Suriname launched their Win Groceries for a year with Shell promotion which will run until December 17, 2016. This promotion offers customers a chance to win free groceries for a year from the prestigious Choi s Supermarket. There will be a total of 10 grand prize winners awarded in this promotion. In addition, 5 lucky winners will be selected each week to have their utility bills paid for the month (water, electricity, or phone credit up to the value of SRD$750). To maintain the excitement throughout the promotional period, the Shell Brand Ambassador will host happy hours at the Shell-branded service stations as well as at the Choi s Supermarket. Sol Suriname Team celebrating their launch Regatta Race Silhouette Running Tide A-Class sailing sloop Sol Bahamas Supports the 49th Annual Long Island Regatta The Long Island Regatta is the second largest sailing regatta in The Bahamas and has been supported by Sol Petroleum (Bahamas) Limited for over forty years. The regatta provides an opportunity for captains to showcase their sloops and compete for trophies and cash prizes. The regatta is a festive occasion where locals and visitors mingle and enjoy native dishes, drinks, and fun activities for the entire family. The event often encourages some Long Islanders to organize small family reunions as it also takes place during the Labour Day weekend. As sponsors of the Prime Minister s Cup race, which features A-Class sloops, Sol is the only petroleum products sponsor and makes a valuable contribution to the event and the long-term development of Long Island.
