Hello, GATEWAY TRAVELER GREATER ST. LOUIS MO UNIT Airstream Club OCTOBER & NOVEMBER, 2014 I would like to thank all Members for their support by attending our Rallies. A lot of thought and work goes into creating the activities, food, tours, etc. to make each Rally fun and interesting. I really appreciate those who volunteer as Hosts and Co-Host; they make it work as it should. Everyone did a super job! Thanks to Ed for helping me out on sooo many things. A Special thanks to Dan for the work he does on Membership. New Members are essential to the vitality of the club. And, to Beth for her accuracy and work as Treasurer, there is so much detail and calculation to keep everything running smoothly. Our Recording Secretary, Jerre Purvis, takes Meeting Minutes at meetings and monitored Elections when needed. While our Corresponding Secretary, Tootie Mayes, keeps us informed when a member had an issue that needs to be communicated to the membership. A Special thanks to JoAnn for publishing the Newsletter. And finally, to Joe Bublis doing such a great job with the Directory. I can't forget Dale, my husband, who traveled with me. He was always there when I needed him. He is also a great fire builder which helps to get people together, enjoying conversation and a few s'more's. Love to all my Airstream Family, Hope to see you at the Holiday Luncheon. Wanita had just been released from the Hospital. She looked good. Wanita had a procedure scheduled for 10/21 so the doctors can determine what can be done to eliminate problems that have been bothering her. Hopefully, everything can be corrected. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Marylan Hofstetter's brother-in-law passed away on October 13 th. She and Dale came to the October Rally, but left on Saturday to attend the funeral. They returned on Saturday evening. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to them at their time of loss. 1

"GSL MO UNIT INSTALLATION RALLY" OCTOBER 16-19,2014 It was a perfect Fall weekend. The daytime temperatures were in the 60's with the sun shinning and hardly a cloud in the sky. The evenings were cool and perfect for the roaring fire and roasting s'mores. Tootie caught a beautiful picture of a sunset. We had a total of 11 Units present and 19 people attended. We greeted our newest members, Ian and Carolyn Muir and initiated them at the same time. The rest of the members present were Ed Knernschield, Suzy Shepard, Ray & JoAnn Kolley, Sara & Joe Hauser, Larry & Tootie Mayes, Dan & Beth Zile, Glen Waters, Joe & Nita Bublis, Dale & Maryln Hofstetter and Fred & Dottie Steurer. The Steurers were just returning from the Southwest Caravan and had not been home yet. They said they had a great time. We made a slight change in our program so Dale and Maryln could attend their brother-in-law's funeral and still participate in the Installation. Since most of us are very familiar with the Lake of the Ozark area, we left the touring up to each individual to venture out either on their own or in a group to see what interested them. One group drove down to Ha Ha Tonka State Park - this is a very unusual and secenic site, many went shopping others just enjoyed the beautiful weather and sites. On Friday at 3:00 PM we met for a Miniture Golf Tournament. We teamed up two to a team, and it could not be spouses. Two teams played per hole. We averaged the teams total to compare scores and determine the 1 st and 2 nd place teams. The 1 st place winners were Dan Zile and Ed Knernschield. The 2 nd place winners were Joe Hauser and JoAnn Kolley. After the Tournament we all went to Wobbly Boots Road House for dutch treat diner. Ending with the flicker (or a roaring at times) of a warm fire and s'mores. Saturday we changed our Business Meeting/Installation to 7:30 PM that evening. Again everyone was free to do their thing. We met at Dierbergs for Lunch. They have a new grocery that is on the bluff with a great view. They took advantage of the location and view and put a deli upstairs with a "to die for view" of the lake channel. We were going to sit on the open deck, it was sunny - but the wind was too chilly. So we sat inside. Not as neat as it was thought to be due to the weather. I don't know how, but I almost forgot to tell you about the wonderful COTTON CANDY that Joe and Sara Houser provided. Just like kids again! The Installation went off as planned (see prior), cake was served and everyone headed for the fire. Sunday was a Continental Breakfast at the meeting room. Maryln Hofstetter provided a very interestiung short Devotional. Everyone said Good Bye and hope to see you at the Christmas Party. Ed will be leaving shortly for the Warm Weather we'll see him in March. Happy Traveling to all. 4
