Robert C. Verre T.T.O.S. C-97 August 24, 1945 September 16, 2014 by Roger Hill, #51116 Toy Train Operating Society Charter Member Robert Verre (C-97) passed away from prostrate cancer on Tuesday, September 16 at the age of 69. He spent his last week in an assisted living home with the help of his sister Linda, his son Jason, and his daughter Brenda. Robert had a passion for vintage O, HO, and TT model trains and was a familiar figure at TTOS and TCA Meets. He always enjoyed the layouts at Southwestern Division Meets and sometimes brought an engine to run. He also worked with the prototype, helping to restore street cars and interurban cars at the Orange Empire Railway Museum, and attended meetings of the Electric Railway Historical Association. Southwestern Division members and friends send sympathy to Robert s family and friends. Please keep Robert s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by many. 3 Photos from Roger Hill and the Verre Family

50/50 Drawing Popular at Monthly Meets Tickets are sold at most monthly meets for a 50/50 drawing. The holder of the 1st drawn ticket receives 50% of the cash ticket sales, with the remaining 50% added to the Southwestern treasury to help with club expenses. More tickets are drawn for consolation prizes of train cars, the number depending upon how many cars we have to give away that month. Fred Kramer, Drawing Chairman, invites members to donate cars for the 50/50 Drawing. Your donation supports the Club and is very much appreciated. The Meet Food Services staff often donates a free lunch for the drawing, and this donation is very much apprecated.
